300C against Ferrari 360

I like to share an experience I had today.

I was lined up next to a 360 in my 300C today at a light waiting to get on the freeway. It was a long uphill ramp 3 lanes wide narrowing into one. Well as we round the corner to get on the ramp I punch it hoping the 360 will show me the $150k difference in our cars. He was a tad late joining the game and up to 80 mph he only went from my rear bumper to my front bumper.

His car was awesome and I was proud of how well the 300C did. I expected to hear more RPM out of the 360, I would guess this is why I was able to keep up, because of him short shifting and not hitting max hp at the higher RPM's.

Nice job.
There's a guy in our development with one of those. I hear him almost every morning approaching from over a block away. That thing is loud. It sounds like he's revving about 6-8K when he's only doing about 25 MPH. Once he hits the main arterial, I hear him romp on it. I can then hear him fade away for what sounds like a mile or two. I would NEVER think of trying to take him on, but an onramp meeting like that would be tempting. Oh yeah, his license plate reads "GIDYUP".

Good call on "GIDYUP", I know him. He races cars for a sport. He has an EVO probably pushing 350hp. It's funny you say that because he is aware how loud it is. He tries not to start it to early in the morning.
