Cool Anybody seen this commercial?

Saw this on TV last night. A Cool Vanilla 300C and a Bimmer are street racing around a downtown area, crashing thru fruit stands, and clothes racks, etc. Bimmer is in the lead :-( but the C is hot on his tail.

Then, a large window is getting carried across the street. Cars both stop out of "respect" for the window.

The race scenes were definitely TV style, but it was nice to see our cars getting this kind of billing.

My daughter said she thought this was a car commercial; but it was a commercial for windows. Not very effective though, because I can't remember the name of the window company! (Perhaps my view was skewed because I was paying more attention to my car!)

Yes... saw it, but it's been around for quite some time, but not played lately. I think it actually came out last year maybe around or just after Super Bowl time. I was trying to see the wheels to determine whether it was an SRT8 or not... but by the time I was looking it never showed the "C" long enough or from the proper angle to get a view of the wheels.

Union Editorial Cuts to the Chase for Marvin Windows:
Los Angeles, CA: Union Editorial editor Einar recently finished cutting "The Chase," a fast-paced TV spot for Marvin Windows in which a Marvin window literally stops a speeding car in its tracks. The 30-second and 60-second versions were directed by Sean Thonson of production company MJZ for ad agency Martin/Williams, Minneapolis. "The Chase" broke nationwide February 28.

An artist puts the finishing touches on a sidewalk chalk tableau in "The Chase." Suddenly, a BMW and a Chrysler Sedan rip through her artwork, kicking up a cloud of colored dust, then continue through the streets of downtown Los Angeles, destroying everything in its path. A café waiter setting up lunch tables narrowly avoids being made a casualty; a flower stand isnıt so lucky, as bouquets explode upon impact. Interspersed are shots of a Marvin picture window being unloaded on a quiet street. The pristine glass, however, is enough to stop the vehicles in their tracks as they come to a screeching halt. The voiceover, "When the only thing that matters is absolute perfection. Marvin Windows and Doors." closes the spot.

Said Union editor Einar, who has previously collaborated with Thonson on numerous spots including "Line" for Lexus and the PSA "Traps" for WildAid, "This commercial has a very cinematic quality‹Sean is so adept at shooting car spots, he really understands how to maintain a sense of momentum and excitement so that the audience feels as if theyıre watching an action scene from a blockbuster movie‹which I think is a great and unconventional way to sell windows."

The spotıs "Man of Mystery"-esque soundtrack was composed by Unionıs Josh Eichenbaum, who also created the sound design on a beefy Pro Tools HD 3 workstation. Eichenbaum originally gleaned sound elements that matched the cars in the spot‹real BMW and Porsche elements corresponded to the BMW, while a mixture of Buick and Oldsmobile elements were used for the Chrysler.

"The client, however, wanted a more robust feel," said Eichenbaum. "So I went back and pulled elements of cars driving in the 150-200 mph range, fast cars, racecars, and sporty fancy Italian cars, and the client really liked that. But I didn't want the cars to blend into each other. I wanted to maintain the integrity of each automobile. So for the BMW, I stuck with Ferrari elements and treated the BMW elements to match. As for the Chrysler, I used a truck with a Hemi engine, and pitched the hell out of it to make it sound like one mean Chrysler machine!"
