Unhappy Looks like I picked a bad week to quit sniffing glue!

Talk about a crappy couple of days. This morning I found out that my 96 year old grandmother passed away. We were expecting it, but that still doesn't help. Angelina Marie Cavalcante was born in Accetura, Italy in 1910 and came to America through Ellis Island in 1911. She had a beautiful and blessed life and I will miss her terribly. God Bless you my sweet little grandma!

Here she is this past Christmas with my grandson, her great-great grandson Joey.

This past Thursday, by beautiful bride-to-be Rosanna's 2003 Volvo S40 was totaled. Her car started shaking in front and pulled to the right. She swerved to the left to avoid hitting another car and lost control and hit the wall head on. Thank God she was in a Volvo and wearing her seatbelts!! That car literally saved her life. She's bruised and sore from the seatbelts and airbag but otherwise OK. It would seem that God has now given her to me twice! The idiot officer on the scene ticketed her for "Too fast for conditions". He didn't witness it, road was dry, car was mechanically sound, she wasn't speeding and he didn't witness her doing anything wrong. Time to write the DA and prepare for court. Maybe I'll just let the family fix this one...

We should get the claim before the wedding and I'll probably buy her a new car for a wedding gift, but all she had to do was ask!! It would have been a lot easier. Here's my baby's poor car:

All this one week before her parents arrive from Brazil and three weeks from the wedding (three weeks from today, in fact!).

If I'm going to have all these major things happening in my life in such a short time, would a winning lottery ticket be out of the question? lol...

Simply put...cars can be replaced, Grandma is finally home with Grandpa and life goes on. The lesson? Love one another right now, right here, for no one owns tomorrow but God.

Thanks for listening, my dear friends..... God bless and keep you.

That about says it all Bob. Sorry to hear about your recent misfortunes. At least your fiance is safe and sound - that is what matters most. Good luck with the upcoming nuptials and all the best.

Maybe the silver lining is that you could get the bride-to-be into an LX? Maybe a SRT?

Boy... condolances (Grandma & Car) and congratulations (wedding)... My wife's 96 year old Grandma passed last year. Remember that no matter how glorious or crappy a day or week or month can be... "This too, shall pass." Here's hoping that things will start lookin' up for you real soon...

That new car... how about a 300C?!

Wow Bob it has been a rough patch for you. Sorry to read about your Grandma- but is sounds like she had a long and blessed life. Still doesn’t make it any easier. And then your bride to be has an accident. It brought to mind those Volvo commercials that are running that state how over population is a problem because Volvo cars are saving so many lives. Thank god for that one! One of my buddies just rolled his Volvo a few weeks ago. Fell asleep, drifted and over she went. He came out without a scratch.
Well your wedding day is quickly approaching- better times are ahead I’m sure!

Thanks guys for the thoughts and words. Yeah, I think I've got a pretty good outlook on it. Grandma did have a beautiful and blessed life surrounded by Love and that's how we'll send her to her rest.

I am so thankful that Rosanna was in a Volvo. We think she has a broken rib from the seatbelts, getting it checked and x-rayed. We're both very lucky. The field adjuster said that since both bags blew, and Volvo bags are expensive, it's probably a total, so that's that. I'm writing Volvo a "Thank You" letter.

Buy her an SRT8? NO WAY! I'll get one and give her the 300C! (minus the headers, of course - )

Gonna buy a POWERBALL ticket tonight, just one and a quick pic (w/powerplay of course!). Gotta have faith! After this week, SOMETHING good has to happen!!

My empathy to you and your family on the loss of your sweet grandma. It sounds like she could have been anyone’s grandma. Isn’t it nice to know she’s once again reunited with grandpa and that they will be there in spirit for your wedding?

Regardless of how it happened, I’m thankful that your soon-to-be bride Rosanna is doing as well as possible considering what happened. Her car is replaceable; just pick another good one that offers superior safety features like the Volvo.

Somehow, your upcoming wedding will work out for the best. You are still healthy and blessed, more than you will ever know! Thanks for sharing your struggles. We are here for you!

In my prayers,
bruno

Sorry for the losses, Bob!!

" That which doesn't kill us, makes us stronger". Its the pain and trials of life that build our souls into what God intended. Loving, caring followers of the belief in a supreme creator. I imagine your Grandmother is fondly smiling down from Heaven upon you and Rosanna, trying her best for you two to see your way through this to enjoy even a part of the life she enjoyed.

Hope all is well before the blessed day.

Steve

Very sorry for your recent misfortunes Bob.Faith leaves us believing they will all be there on your big day , as well as every other day , watching over you.By the looks of the Volvo , score one for faith.I can not fathom this idiot cop, seeing her upset, issuing a summons. It is beyond comprehension. It is also hersey(not sure of the spelling on this one) and will likely get thrown out of court. My condolances and I think it's safe to say the big guy owes you a sunny, gorgeous day for your nuptuals.Best of luck to both of you going forward and have a great wedding day,I think it is safe to say you've earned it.

Mike
