Keep in mind, Europe's gas prices are high, but that is because of the tax involved in their pump price. On the open market, they are actually trading slightly lower than US. Here is an interesting article that not only shows the price comparison on the open market, but also states some good news if it does come true...

After looking at the link that Rambit posted, look at some of the socialist country prices....damn

Yes I remember when gas prices shot up to .60…..people were freaking out screaming they would stop driving when prices hit $1.00. Well, they’re still driving and I would love to see $1.00 again.

Rambit, I wish the price shown for Sydney OZ was correct. Using the formula to calculate litres to US Gallons (3.89Lt/US Gal) and a generous Aussie $ exchange rate (A$1=US$0.75) a US Gallon is costing us US$4.23 today for the lowest Octane fuel.

In our market the price of fuel fluctuates each week by up to A$0.15 with the Oil companies usually making the peak price hike Wednesday afternoon and gradually discounting each day to a "low" price on Wednesday mornings. If there is a public holiday they gouge us and hold prices up right through the weekend.

Ours changes almost daily and EVERY night they jack the price up by $0.06/L till mid morning, the buggers. Right now it's at $1.01/L for regular (87). Add at least $0.10 for premium (93). Our CDN $ is closing in on the US $ at around $0.89 last time I checked.
