Yahoo! Slup Spider

Welp I was looking at who is online and I noticed a problem with the Yahoo spider having I am guessing something like 100 connections to the site.

While I understand that search engin spider are a evil sites have to deal with, I had the guy that runs a forum I admin make it so they could load the crap out of the server with spider connections. It also cost served bandwidth to have then scrapping the site.

Just thought I would mention it, if you wanted to look into it.

I first noticed that in January, and ekool thinks it's a good thing as the contents of this board are exposed to the whole world. I guess it gives us more exposure and possibly new members.

Spider Invasion!!!

I also noticed those slurpies……wondering how much bandwidth they hog up. Slurp, slurp, slurp! Sounds like kinky spiders to me….they probably need a bath in soap as well.

This is your department bruno. Get the soap ready and call the Orkin Man and danno needs another fix as well.

Well, both of you could certainly take a lesson from the Slurp Spiders...staying focused on one thing and minding your own business. If I had to call the Orkin Man, it would be to have the two of you exterminated.

RobAGD: I like your idea because I'm one who is still dealing with a very slow site here but not anywhere else.

Funny, just had the Orkin man in the house just today. We have the biggest spiders I’ve ever seen here in south Florida. They are gigantic and it is no lie. They can jump too. The first time I saw one I jumped out of my skin…….I needed a bath with soap after that encounter.

Thanks Rambit,

As I have to worry about it a little on my forums and given how busy this and other forums are, having 100+ threads open for spiders can hurt server performance to some degree.

while its good to be scanned for content, I find it a little excesive the way they do that. Example is I almost never see more than 5 google spiders.

Hey danno, bruno's getting nasty again. Not a very nice comment to have us exterminated eh. Where's the LOVE bruno. Even if we are spiders in your mind and we would love to lure you into our web and do stuff to you , it's not a reason to kill us...right danno!!!

I just noticed how similar the names bruno and danno are.

I never looked at it that way, mainly because I'm not sure what they are, but maybe that's the reason this site bogs down so much.

Rambit,
The only lure I have for you and danno can be found on the end of a sharp fishing hook! No love lost here, you weirdos. Haven't you both found someone else on the forum to torment????

RobAGD,
I was just wondering why you placed this post in the 'New Member Area'...
