Sorry to hear that Bob, my prayers are with you as well. God bless your daughter. I understand your feelings about your baby, I have three munchkins of my own and when I am in the grave and they are in thier old age, they will still be my babies.

She is so young to have a stroke and I am sure the neurologist will work her up thoroughly to find a source.

If no source is found, make sure they check a Homocystein level, it is a fairly obscure test many physicians know nothing about. Here is one of many articles on the topic.

Bob I’m sending prayers your way. That is a frightening thing to have happen and totally unexpected for someone so young. Youth is definitely in her favor and it sounds like they did the right thing by going in right away. I will also pray the doctors give her the very best treatment humanly possible. Hang in there Bob, and as you can keep us updated on her prognosis.

Get Well

Sorry to hear about this unfortunate event Bob. My mother suffered an anuerism in her brain and a stroke , losing her speech back in 1988 in her late forties. Between the doctors and prayer(some luck too im sure) she made a full recovery. Today's technology , her youth and spirit , your love and support , and prayers from your friends and family(yes us too) and I hope your next post covers her amazing recovery . Take care of yourself and may God bless your angel , Mike .

Bob,
My prayers and concerns are for Jamie and you as well. This medical incident with your daughter is very alarming yet I am thankful all the right people were in place at the right time to render assistance and subsequent medical treatment. I have faith that every thing will work out for the best. Thank goodness Jamie reported her symptoms immediately to her mom!

Praise God you had time together, too, on Father's Day! May God bless all of you and keep you in His loving care! We are here for you and Jamie! Don't be shy to ask for any help from us.

Thank you so much everyone for all of your prayers and thoughts and kindness. It is certainly helping. Thank you all!

Here's the latest update on Jamie.

She's still in ICU and may be in for 3-5 days under observation. The CT scan looked good, but the neurologist called it a minor stroke, ischemic in nature (not a TIA). It was likely caused by a blood clot and in young people, that can be caused by a VSD...a hole in the heart. The hole can sometimes get clotted up and occasionally it breaks loose and this is one possible scenario/result.

She is moving her fingers and left arm, but can't yet lift her leg. Her mom reports she's being her sassy self, so that's a GREAT sign!! The doctor asked her to participate in a trial/test and she agreed. It's a synthetic snake venom that prevents blood clotting and is still in trials. It won't hurt and may even help and Jamie agreed that even if it doesn't help her, it may help someone else. What a kid...

II Kings, I'll look into that, thanks!

Tomorrow is a day full of tests, full body contrast MRI and who knows what else. I'll certainly keep you all posted. Thanks for all your prayers!! God Bless you all....

Bob & Rosana

Bob,

My first visit to the forum today and saw your daughter needed our prayers. So glad to hear that that things are looking about as positive as can be. God has already worked and answered prayers.

Know that your daughter and all of you will be in my family's prayers until this is resolved.

Best regards,

Jim
