Jeep Ads Will Boast Benz Connection

from thecarconnecation.com June 23 2006:

Jeep Ads Will Boast Benz Connection

The Chrysler Group has gotten the green light from DaimlerChrysler's automotive council to advertise the fact that the new diesel in the Jeep Grand Cherokee comes from Mercedes-Benz. It will be the first time Chrysler's product advertising will play up the Mercedes connection. The connection has been touted in various corporate ad campaigns but Chrysler VP Eberhardt said this was the first time Chrysler could play up the connection because it's the first time Chrysler has actually used a Mercedes-Benz engine in one of its products, he said. "Why shouldn't we play it up? Mercedes Benz makes the best diesel engines in the world," he said. Eberhardt also brushed aside suggestions that Mercedes-Benz executives have opposed playing up the corporate links between the two brands. "We have a new boss now," said Eberhardt, pointing to his friend and mentor Dieter Zetsche. -Joe Szczesny

Considering the fact that the Chrysler Group has been carrying the corporation maybe Benz should use the connection in their ads.

I was wondering when this connection would start to appear. Exactly, why not pitch that new diesel as MB. Our European friends that use that diesel have been raving about it. I would like to try her out myself......in a 300 of course.

Lol skeletonizer and so true.

Talking benz

Lets face it , if it was not for mercedes benz , our 300 cars would not have
existed and chrysler would still be making k-car crap !!!
The more parts mercedes allows chrysler to use the BETTER the quality of our machines !!! I hope in the near future mercedes will allow chrysler to use their most recent platforms on our 300c's .

I don't think anyone here would argue with you on this one. It is kind of ironic that it took a German company to make a real American car again.
