Early Christian Mosaic: Megiddo Isreal

This was found at the ancient city Megiddo (Armegeddon) Isreal. Check all of the photos for some very interesting text on this recent find likely predating Constantine I who legalizied Christianity throughout the Roman Empire. Mosaic, Constantine I.

Archaeology is so awesome! I would never have the patience for it, however. So what does the text say?

This mosaic is thought to date from 150-300AD. There is a central fish symbol, a text listing the Roman officer who paid for the mosaic (before Christianity was legal in Rome if the dating is correct), and most importantly a text reading "The God loving Aketous has offered this alter to the God Jesus Christ in memorial". This is evidence separate from the Dead Sea scrolls (translated by King James in 1611) that Jesus was indeed worshiped as God on earth.

In Isreal, any construction by law must first be excavated to search for antiquities. This mosaic was discovered as an expansion of a terrorist prison when prisoners were excavating the site. It is considered the most important archeologic find of our time.

Very cool information Kings! There is so much to learn in that area of the world. Sadly a lot of it is being destroyed before Archeologists can get to it. Thanks for links!
