Chavez gets a bum rap in this country because he's heavily socialist. Honestly, he's not as bad as we make him out to be. For instance, when the American medical school in Grenada got wiped out by a hurricane, who was there first with help? Was it Americans? No, first the Venezualan troops got there to provide security (the jail had been busted open by the hurricane and all of the prisoners escaped) and to airlift anybody who needed to be airlifted for medical reasons. It was only several days later that American planes arrived.

what does that have to do with the fact that he wants to bring down the American goverment?

no offense, but this has nothing to do with Grenada..............

What does it have to do with it? Ok, he sent aid and medicine and food and water to Grenada, but he sent troops SPECIFICALLY to protect the AMERICAN medical school. To me that says anything he said about bringing down America is rhetoric and nothing more.

Rambit, I know it's all in good fun, but I'm getting tired of it. How many foreign policy journals do you read in a month? Or newspapers a day? Or political books in a year?

Let me guess Richard. Oh, exactly NONE of all of the above. I find I can get more than enough information by keeping my ear to the ground and watching the news. That, street smarts and common sense have served me well. Anything more, I have advisors like you to keep me informed. That makes me a lot like George Bush. Why ruin my eyesight when we have people like you around to do the dirty work. Believe me my friend I'm not alone on this. After advisors like you have filled me in, I just filter the 5% that has any value to me. The rest stays locked up in your ever increasing and swollen head. YOU are the Book of Knowledge. Sounds impressive, but the pay is the sh!ts.

I can't think of anything more boring than the reading you do. You need to step back and see how the REAL world operates. You may very well be informed from this reading, but people like you will always end up as advisors, NOT the guy at the top you feel you need to keep informed. You have virtually zero life experience, yet you seem to know what's happening in every area. You have to realize there's a HUGE difference from being book smart and street smart. Of course you'd be a hit at any trivia game event.

Now if you had asked me how many skin books or porn flicks I've seen, we'd have something worthwhile to talk about. With all the reading you do, how do you have time for the finer things in life. Burn the books and find a hot woman who can teach you the things that REALLY make the world go round.

I'm squarely in the corner with my brother (in opinion) Rambit on this one. Boycott the gas from nationlized oil. The first true sign that Castro wasn't what he seemed was when he nationalized foreign interests. And by the way, the USA offered to help Venezuela when they had terrible floods a few years back and Chavez turned it down. The USA can only offer, the other country has to accept. Did Grenada ask? Did they turn us down?
