Post Camaro convertible for 2009?

Camaro convertible for 2009?

With Dodge officially announcing that it will produce a version of the Challenger concept which wowed show goers this year, the pressure for General Motors to green-light the Chevrolet Camaro grows more intense with every passing day. Likely to add a bit more high-octane to the fire is this Brenda Priddy & Co. rendering of what a droptop Camaro may look like.

Despite the fact that GM has yet to officially sign-off on the coupe version of the Camaro, it appears to be all but a done-deal, with Priddy’s moles hearing convincing rumblings of engineers hard at work on the muscle car in Australia. If that’s the case, logic would hold that a topless variant wouldn’t be far behind, hence this artist’s rendering of a projected 2009 convertible variant.

So will this be another addition to your stable after you get your Challenger? Nice…..but there is something about the General I have trouble with. But who knows, there was a day that I would have laughed in your face if you had told me I would own a Chrysler.

Danno. I am right there with you on the Chrysler statement. Heck, Freebird is my first Chrysler I have ever owned.

I grew up and have always been a member of the General's army (GM). We had every kind of GM from Chevy, Pontiac's, Old's, Buick's etc, in our family growing up. But today, as you stated, there is something about the General that I have trouble with as well. Plus they are going to race that thing they call a camaro to the market, in hopes of not getting crushed to badly by the Challenger. To throw out there a rendering of a rag top is just sad. Most of my buddies who still have F-body camaro's and TransAm's are appauld by what GM is thinking of making the camaro into. I told them it is official that the Challenger will be made in 08. They wanted to know where the sing up was for the Challenger.

It's as if GM stopped caring about what it's customer's wanted, shut the doors on them and turned out the lights at the plants. No wonder Ford and GM are getting there tush's handed to them on a nice DCX silver platter.

[quote=CVC22348(b)(1)]Challenger convertable! Who knows, maybe they will. Just give us the hard top first (2008,yea),lol. That is the Challenger I want, lol.

I'm still waiting for the C to drop it's top.

Well ASC already built the 300 Helios concept for the 300. No word from Chrysler if it will be a go. I have been conversing with the guys over at ASC, they said as far as they know it is still only a concept. Suggested I/we start telling DCX to built it,lol.

Nah danno, just an article I discovered which had a pretty nice rendition of what the Camaro convertible might look like...the 'Challenger' still remains at the top of my list. Scuttlebutt has it that a convertible 'Challenger' might see daylight around 2010, but we will shall see if it in fact ever makes it to production. I'm not a big fan of convertibles myself, especially after having owned a few throughout my days; however, a retractable hard-top (ala Volvo) might be an interesting consideration.
