Talking Rambit's Going to School!!!

Traffic School that is! On the return from Spring Fling last March, yeah I got a speeding ticket in the fine state of California, near Needles...drats, but I accept responsibility for my actions and recently paid the $196 US ($232 CDN). I got caught doing 91 mph in a 70 mph zone. Good thing it wasn't when I was doing 165 mph, otherwise I'd be writing this from a prison probably!

There was an option to pay an additional $29 for "tuition" fees to attend this Post Secondary School of higher learning. The purpose of this is so insurance companies are not made aware and no points are given. Some states have an agreement with some Canadian provinces to exchange this information. I didn't want to take the chance that California and Ontario do, so along with my payment of the ticket, I asked if it was possible to "attend" an on line version of the school. Good news, yes I can!!! I sent the payment yesterday and I'm ready for enrolment. When they receive this they said they'll provide the link to the site.

The questions I have, specifically from California residents who've been bad like me, are what can I expect? Do I need to study, or is it like a urine test? Are there on line resourses for brushing up? How much of my life do I have to give to them? Any cheat sheets out there (j/k)? Thanks...

Rambit

PS: No lectures on what a bad boy I was...haha!

You get to choose from many sites. Its a breeze. I was shown a bunch of videos and from time to time it would ask for my name and other info to make sure I was paying attention. You shouldn't have any problems.

It is very easy. I chose one online school and there were sixteen chapters that had a 5 question quiz at the end of each chapter. Most of the quiz's were basic common sense questions. At the end there is a 40 question test and the questions are totally different from the quiz questions. During the test the window for the sixteen chapters stays open so you can go back and find the answers. It took me 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. Much better than sitting in a class for 8 hrs on a Saturday. Hope this helps.

Wow when I lived in the People's Republik of Kalifornia you had to physically GO to the class (which I seemed to be doing every 2 or 3 years ) It was insanely easy to pass but boring as hell and a waste of a day -- but of course the ticket didn't go on your record so it was worth it.

Here in Idaho I was with a friend when he got a speeding ticket; The nice officer explained to him that the fine would be $65.00 and the infraction would go on his driving record, OR he could pay $100.00 and it would not show up! No traffic school or anything like that, just pay an extra $35 and it all goes away! How's that for revenue generation?

No Rambit, because that would be cheating.
Not to mention, if you knew the stuff I've done, you'd know that'd be like getting Snoop Dogg to take a urine test for you.

Not that I wouldn't have loved to return to California. That's pretty much the way it happens here too. Come to think about it, that's the way the military deals with charges. If you wanna fight it, the next level's power of authority and punishment goes up. Also I have peace of mind I can return without getting arrested.

Richard - I thought you loved school. You'd breeze right through it too.
