Holy crap what a big project you’ve got ahead of you. Looking a little rough around the edges, but I’m sure with hard work and blood sweat and tears you can bring her back. Sounds like she will be hot when completed. Good luck on the work ahead of you.

You will definitely have your hands full with the rebuild from what I can see. If I owned it, I would arrange to have the Chip Foose crew steal it. I admire your talents to be able make this car whole again. Good luck!

P.S. You will need to excuse DUBSTER's response. He has a very limited vocabulary on this forum!

69 Chevy Custom

YuKno,
We obviously have the similar tastes!
When I saw you painted your GSM Intros Silver Steel, I replied that I was considering doing the same thing.
Then you showed pics of your SRT8 and many of the mods were on my list (painted lights with halos, recessed grill, etc.).
Now I see you are customizing a 1970 Chevy..

Here are pics of mine. I built this custom about 15-years ago, and it still takes the spot in the garage while my SRT8 sits outside (criminal, I know.. new garage to come soon)

These are poor pics; I need to take some better ones. The big block is punched 0.030" over to 402 c.i., with TRW forged 10.5: pistons, cam, Edelbrock, headers, 750 spread bore Holley, and only has about 100 hours on it. Turbo 400 trans with shift kit (chirps 2nd at 1/2 throttle). I installed a 3.73:1 posi 12-bolt rearend. Lowered, shaved of all chrome (136 holes filled), solenoid doors, custom made sidepipes, grill, tails, side marker lights are milled smoked plexiglass and mount flush from behind. The roof has been shaved of all trim and drip rails, and a padded "carson-type" top was added. Louvered hood, decromed bumpers with bolts welded and filled, any trim that was not removed was powdercoated black.
The interior was completely redone and sports buckets and console, all new upholstery, diamond-tuck velour, with headliner, carpet, etc. all new.

I did most of the work, but had a shop lay the color and put on the top.

The only changes I would make now would be to put new wheels on it to bring it up to date (too bad, because these spokes were modified to fit the car and they were new.... 15-years ago )

The harsh thing is that now my life is so filled with business & family that I have no time to play with it. I have never taken it to any shows or rod runs, and I am now considering selling it to gain some space.

Yukno I am totally impressed with your level of expertise….. you don’t need Chip Foose! (although that would be a siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick idea) Your completed project is beautiful. I have no doubt in my mind you will do the same with your latest project. You’re incredible!! Well done!!

Tork your Chevy looks amazing as well. We have some seriously talented people on this message board people!! Damn, you both are insane with talent. Thanks for sharing the pictures…..keep ‘em coming!

Thanks for the positive comments Danno & Dubster-

YuKno- That '66 is frikkin BAD. These Impalas are getting more in demand as time goes on. The lines are clean and lend themselves to customizing real well.
It looks like you have already shaved the handles on your '70; what all do you have planned?

The SRT8 is somewhat my Chebbie replacement. A 4000-lb domestic sedan with >400 hp to melt the tires. Lots of room for customization... Big and Bad.
I don't think I will install the black light in the headliner of the SRT8, though..

Yes, the handles are shaved......if you nitice the pics, the rear light vents have been frenched in and and this point (not in pic) looks like it is part of the body now. The car originally had a vinyl top......the belt molding groove on the rear quater panel was shaved.....And in the front where the 350 emblem was I placed an led turn signal (flush with body, can't be felt). That's all the body mods. It has a completely rebuilt suspension with 2" drop spindles and springs...plan on bonspeed 20" billet wheels, suede and vinyl interior, dakota digital dash & interior billet trim........ohh, car will be two-toned when finished
