Sony PS3 Release Date
United States - November 17th, 2006
Europe - March 2007
Australia - March 2007
Japan - November 11th, 2006
Playstation 3 Price
20GB Version - $499(499 euros in Europe)
60GB version - $599 (599 euros in Europe)
PS3 Launch Shipments
Sony officials announced that they are planning to have 400,000 PS3 units available at launch in North America and 100,000 in Japan. Total of 1 to 1.2 million units will ship to North America by December 31st.

I think the pre-release sale depends on the store. You would need to keep asking them.

400,000 units vs MILLIONS of People = BIG Demand vs Supply, watcha think, you can get at least double your money back on a 60gig Unit ?

My Plan is to "try" to get 2 units...1 for myself, and the other for ebay

If the timing is right......somebody will! Although I wouldn't. I'll just wait and pay the regular price. I say go for it. I might try to get me a lot of them and make a killing!

There will be no pre-orders on the PS3, as there are not even units allocated to all retail chains. Meaning the retailers would have to fight to get units and it would really tick off some Game stops, EBX's Toys R Us, Targets if some of their locations were alloted guarnteed units while others weren't They can't pre-order as they don't even know if they will get units in their own store. And even though it may not seem like it but Wal-Mart is the mighty hand in the video retal chain as companies can reach more of people through them so they can be the bully somewhat. Also remember that no retailer is going to sale the PS3 for retail price they are going to bundle the unit which means the consumer will be forced to pay a higher price to get the unit and possibly get games they don't want. My prediction if you stand in line to get 1, you will probably be looking at around $1000 coming out of the store ( sony loses money on each PS3 they sell) so bundles at launch try to make that up

Talking

My plan is to wait for PS10 that will be the ultimate sucker. The say it will bake a pizza, brew beer and vacuum your room, oh not to mention the games you can play at the same time.
