Off-Topic Rules - Please read.

We have had alot of bad posts in this section lately.... people not respecting even the most basic and common sense rules... people not showing the smallest level of respect for other members. It has to stop.

We have taken away all permission to post NWS material on other boards and will do the same here if this continues.
It would be unfair to remove a right that all users have because a few selfishly disregard a board policy specifically placed to protect members and guests from viewing material they have no desire to view. A warning label on threads with what could be considered "adult content" is not only a matter of common courtesy or board policy, it could save someone a lot of embarrassment... or their job.

If you have something that you even REMOTELY consider non-work-safe, even if stuff is blurred or blacked out, YOU WILL LABEL IT AS NWS.

If people do not start following this rule, we will not allow NWS material to be posted AT ALL and people who do post it will be banned.

Please dont let it come to that.

Will you dock points and then once they get to a certain number they will be banned or will they just get banned automatically?? I mean are you going to give them a warning or just banned them?

It depends on the severity of the infraction and if they have received warnings in the past. We evaluate each situation on a case by case basis.

What this means, is that using the defense: "But I didnt get a warning" is not valid.

So as a safety precaution it might not be a bad idea to label most off topic discussions as NWS. This way as a topic grows and something is posted with a hint of adultness (which often times happens) it won’t cause the admin to be put in a bad position. I think something should also be said about posting pictures from car shows that have scantily clothed women in them. I don’t think some members know that this is considered adult material and should be labeled as NWS. There are a couple of posts out there with such pictures on them right now.

So will it be allowed to post these types of pictures in a NWS thread in the off topic area? (I realize no nudity and there should NEVER be nudity……. I’m talking tight clothes, provocative poses WITH cars or trucks. ) You know it is hard to go to car shows these days and not have the beauties draped over the cars and trucks. I realize this is a car forum, but cars and pretty women have gone hand in hand (so to speak) for decades. I don’t want to stir crap up; I just want to know what the policy is for these types of posts so people can go to them if allowed. If you would like some samples I can PM what I’m talking about. Perhaps a little more feedback would help prevent some uncomfortable positions for both members and admin. Thanks for your hard work!

Yep. Actually, more like a private school. It is after all, a privately owned forum that the public can view as guests, but can't post.

Members can post, as long as they follow THE MAN'S rules. Personally, I like it this way. Even after 32 months and 10,000 members, it is still a friendly place to come where most everyone is respectful to each other and we actually stay on topic, most of the time.

Most car forums degenerate into nasty member bashing and are cluttered with thousands of worthless threads that try to entice you into opening them, such as - "A Really Strange Thing Happened This Morning . . . I woke up early in a good mood. Has anyone else had this experience?"

There are always great posts to browse here every single day.

Props to ekool.
