Impala SS Help?

I'm thinking about picking up a used car for my wife. She doesn't like driving the SRT-8 because it's too nice to bring into the shopping malls and grocery stores. I'm looking at the '95-96 Impala SS with the LT-1 motor. I still have my '95 Z/28 and it's a strong drivetrain. I know some of you have owned the Impala. Any thoughts? Will it handle snow with 4 snow-tires?

You might consider a 2003-04 Mercury Marauder.. some come
with Traction Control which helps in the snow, plus
you get over 300 ponies to boot.
