2008 Ford Five Hundred

Hi Guys!!

Well... they DID make the front end more... um... noticeable. But is that a good thing?!

You tell me.

Click on THIS to see the updated FIVE HUNDRED.

The 60 extra horsepower won't hurt. I'll say that much.

Craig!!

I'm not sure how they managed it, but they found a way of making that car uglier and even more boring to look at!! No wonder I rarely see one on the road. I think I've seen more Bentleys in the past year!!

DEFINITELY looks more like a Mercury! No wonder Ford is having problems and will continue having problems? Why take a car like that and make it even more vanilla / plain jane!??! Blah.

I like the Five Hundred a lot, especially after the very substantial powertrain upgrades. 30 percent more power and similar fuel economy, and substantially quieter and safer than before. Those are important changes, and this car should now sell well assuming, of course, that Ford decides to get off its ass and advertise it.

The looks won't appeal, I suppose, to the average 300 driver, but it is clean, crisp and conservative - and there should be a strong market for this very practical and comfortable car, now that the powertrain has been upgraded to world class.

Still an old platform front driver.

Not good enough as Ford's top of the line sedan, even with the Gillette 3 blade razor grill.

That is really pitiful. That is the 3 blade design like the Edge. When I bought my Gillette 5 blade Fusion I posted it here to show the similarity to the 5 blade grille in the Ford Fusion. What an incredibly stupid company (Ford).

Below is what Ford Europe is doing with the excellent Mondeo, why can't they bring that here and style the Five Hundred like it? I really think someone at Ford has shorted the stock and wants to make a fortune when they go bankrupt. No one can possibly think that thing with it's hudeous front end will sell.

I sent Ford an Email last month asking why they treat us like a red headed stepchild and give us Fusions and the Europeans get sweet looking Mondeos. I have not heard a reply.
