Thanks for the warm welcome back, guys. Can't believe I went from drinking mojitos on South Beach in 80 degree weather to freezing my internet nutswingers off in such a short time. It was quite an adventure. I got burned on an internet car purchase once before, so I'm even more careful now. It was such a relief to see that this car was as advertised. The flight from Boston to Tampa was only $139, so I was prepared to just fly back home if it wasn't what it was supposed to be. Danno - Sorry I couldn't give you a heads-up, but this was a stealth-bomber mission. Swoop in, drop my ordnance and hightail it out of FL. Herb - Except for the Sirius, Nav, and those bun-warmer seats, I didn't miss the SRT-8 all that much. The Caprice is like a 10 yr old version of the 300C. Fast and comfortable.

Last but not least, CPL - You remind me of the guy that's been divorced three times and gets married again. You really do believe in the triumph of hope vs. experience. I predict Peyton will double the number of Superbowl rings he has this year! Go Pats!

When I first met my girl she owned one of the former police Interceptors. Pretty nice car. We sold it to a good friend and he has done great things with it.

Sounds like someone took the t-stat out, insted of replacing it.

If that were the case though, it'd be REAL cool. I was thinking maybe a leaky heater core...I'm just guessing in the dark though.

Update: When GM built 'em they wanted the cooling system to last to 100k, so they added some waxy tablets to the coolant to plug tiny leaks as they developed. Over time, the tablets break down and plug the heater core. A good reverse flush cleaned it all out, and I have heat again. I've got four Firestone Winterforce snows on rallye wheels painted metallic granite with the dog-dish police style hubcaps. I was thinking more that a dash-mounted Remington pump would complete the image more than the spotlight
Like I said in another thread, it's pretty quick for a 2 ton barge, but the SRT-8 will clean its clock any day.

Somehow I missed this thread, Rick.

Great story! Here's to the Yank-Tank . . .

With the nasty cold weather you guys are having it's a good thing you've got heat again! That would be just too cold to drive without heat. Post a pic of your wheels....they sound quite stylish! Here's to the barge rolling down the road keeping the family safe!
