Anyone up for helping 5,000 kids?

I reposted this here as well as in the Northeast Regional Forum becasue this has universal appeal (hopefully)

In tune with our desire to have these mega meet and greets, I was wondering if we could possibly do this .

I have been the Board President for the Boys and Girls Clubs of New Rochelle for the past 24 years.

I am always looking for fund raisers.

I have a goal to raise $ 15,000 this year for approximately 5,000 kids we service over the year.

I have seen these great car shows that raise mega bucks for charity. Jay Leno is doing one on Feb 23 in Boca Raton for the Broward County Boys and Girls Clubs down there. They will raise Hundreds of thousands of dollars for these kids.

I am getting ready to retire form the position after all these years, but I would like to set something up that could perhaps be an annual affair.

I need some feedback and alot of help of course. It would be a show where all the participants pay let's say a $ 50.00 entrance fee, vendors pay a $150 entrance fee and admission is charged to the public at say $ 20.00 a head.

It is all tax deductible. All payments would be made directly to the Boys and Girls Clubs of New Rochelle.

With the incredible array of MOPAR forums and people we have this could really be great.

I would like to get 300's Chargers, Maggies, Jeeps, PT Cruisers, and all other Mopars new and classic to participate.

Maybe even open it up to all modeed and classic cars, not jut MOPARS. Of course we will also accept donations from other forum members who cannot attend.

Any opinions and would anyone be willing to help me out?

Thanks

Chas

Sounds like a great idea Chas... just a suggestion, I'd drop the admission fees down to like $10 for adults and $5 for children 5 and up.

Chas,

We are in when it comes time for donations, for sure. So do you have an idea for a venue, time frame, etc, or are you still in the kicking it around in your head stage? If I can be of any assistance from here, don't hesitate to ask.

Just in the "think-tank" stage at the moment

If there is enough interest, I'll start looking for a venue, permits, etc.

I'll also approach our wonderful vendors on the site for prize donations, etc or to paticipate on-site.

Thanks for the encouragement and, of course, all suggestions are welcomed
