Another Fallen Hero…

It is with continued sadness that the high school where I teach has lost yet another former student/graduate.

I would like to ask my fellow forum members to keep my high school and surrounding community, family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as we grieve the loss of our 4th young graduate, fighting for our freedoms and those of the Iraqi citizens.

Although I can't explain the high number, I thank you for your support. God bless all our forum members who are still out there defending our freedoms!

It's a sad shame. I'm sorry for the family's and friend's loss. You should be proud to be associated with and have known so many who were so giving. I hope your school honors its own appropriately.

Probably because they are strong and courageous and go to the forefront without fear and trepidation. Young heros all!

Our sincerest THANKS for their highest of sacrifice, and PRAYERS for their familes and friends who now will grieve their loss.

Sorry for the loss your school is having! I thank those young men for serving! Is Jared and Jeremiah the best friends that served in the war that I have seen on TV???

Thanks gentlemen for your kind words and prayers. Our community and school are extremely proud of the fact we instill the life-long concept of school, church, and community service throughout their 4 years. Many, like these young men, choose the military pathway. They all have a place of honor in our hearts.

Luke....yes, that is the very same Jared and Jeremiah. Both were in my peer counseling program and their death really tore me up. They made history all over the world at the time of their death due to the unique nature of their lives... growing up together, dying together, and being buried side-by-side on Veterans Day. I struggled getting through so many TV and radio interviews with reporters from all over the world because of the nature of their relationship with me in the peer counseling program.

Matt...I know you are just teasing but just to clarify, all the boys were killed by IEDs except for Tony.

We all have to remember that these young men and women are fighting for our freedom and that sometimes the end results is a loss of life. These lives lost should not be forgotten and should be honored by all of us. As the world keeps getting crazier, these courageous fighters fight for us so we can remain a free nation. My respect and honour goes out to the fallen and those who are still fighting. Tonight I will keep these braves troops in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for the loss that has occured, for you, your community, and the ones close to the warriors deceased. There is a lot of evil in the world, but there will always be those that heed the call to serve and stand on the line, keeping the rest of us safe. The current situation in Iraq sometimes suggests that these souls died for nought, but as one who has been there, I can tell you that they were really helping a wayward people find freedom and were performing a valiant act.
Hopefully you don't have to suffer any more hardship.

Yes - sadly I assumed that was the likely case. Sounds like your school must have a disproporionate number of young men with the call to serve. There should be pride in that.
