I do too. Knut ist gut und Knut macht Mut! I wish I spoke well enough to be able to translate for y'all. I can speak well enough to make most of it out for myself in my head as I hear it, but to actually translate would be much slower.

He’s a cutie. Why would they consider putting him to sleep? Are they afraid he’ll grow into a genetic mutant or something? I took four years of German in HS…..way too many years ago. You would think I would remember something. Alas….those brain cells were deemed sacrificial in the 80’s.

Well, the animal activist who was the mouthpiece for the kill him front basically felt that since the mother rejected him, humans raising him would somehow be cruel (I guess because he wouldn't have a normal polar bear life), so he should instead be put to sleep. Even though the guy (I forget his name) said in an article that they should kill him, he later said, after Knut had become something of a hero, oh i didn't mean kill, i meant in the future if this happens again they should let nature take its course.
