A note from my neighbor

At 10:31 this morning the following email landed in my inbox:

"Post this in your forum Slick:

My name is Hoot, I live next door to "The Meister" and "Junior". A little visual set up first, we live in a rural setting on huge (1 acre plus) lots with a lot of green pasture, trees and shrubs, you know the stuff that deadens the sounds of every day life.
"So there I was" in the kitchen getting a cup of coffee behind closed doors including a closed garage full of trucks and fully shelved, (more sound deadening stuff). Then I feel it, not hear it but feel it, Meister touches the ignition, and that's what I feel, something igniting. It ran chills up my neck. He has built an amazing Hemi over there. It's not a loud sounding engine, It's a thick and heavy feeling..........oh well it was cool.

Happy Motoring
Hoot

Logic; the way to go completely wrong with the greatest of confidence."

It's nice to have a car that can send chills up the neighbor's spine without even trying.

It's also nice to have neighbors who appreciate it.

Thanks for those great, friendly, thoughts, all. They're much appreciated.

One of these years it'll happen, Chas.

And Pat (Northern Rider for you more recent members), Laguna Seca was just as sweet, and just as awesome, as we both knew it would be.

Making it even sweeter was a strong-running, well suspended, Hemi that ate Porsches & 'Vettes for dinner. 'Don't need to tell you how sweet that was.

I'd like to stop the story there, but in fairness to the highly modified and very well driven club Subaru WRXs (several) and the full race BMW M3 that were more than the measure of my car and me on that given day, I'll tip my hat to them. There's always another day.

But all half dozen late-model Porsches and both 'Vettes running the advanced intermediate group with me now know what the back end of my sweet 300C looks like, usually after getting an up close & personal view via the mirror of the new fascia on her other end (see pic, below).

'Don't know that it's all that menacing looking - kind of looks like the grin on those Chevron ad cars - but it certainly does its intended job of opening up the fascia center to provide much-need cooling air for the fluid coolers located there.

Nice neighbor you’ve got their Meister! I’m glad they can appreciate the low rumble of a finely tuned Hemi! Congrats on your Laguna Seca Porsche and Vette combo dinner plate.

Hey Jim! I remember at Cali Speedway you liked SMK_Hemi's Xenon front end and asked Cpl. Daugherty and myself about it. Glad to see you wasted no time!

I hope it keeps your underhood temps down like you suspect. It sure is good at moving enough air to rip the belly pan off of the C's, as SMK_Hemi can attest personally.

That's awesome Meister! Your car really is dialed in... the best 5.7 in the land IMO. I'm honored to have driving the car that sends chills up your neighbors spine
