HELP..Need home remedies for a KILLER cold

As I write this I fear that I'm less then three hours from this world. So post some home remedies for this damn KILLER cold or 300C Forums I fear will be one member less. Better still if you don't help I'm gonna hunt you all down and let you enjoy this cold as much as I am

How terrible! I drink lots of hot chicken soup, hot tea, and then I take steam (shower or warm vaporizer) to help loosen the phlegm.

I also will drink a hot toddy before going to bed or if that isn’t available Nyquil is just about pure alcohol…..swig that crap down and it will knock you out. Be careful with nasal sprays like Afrin as they can give you a rebound effect or even become addicting if used excessively.

Gotta hot lemon drink going now and am thinking of sending my wife out to get some rum. Hot rums may not help but maybe I'll forget how ****ty I feel :-). Haven't had a cold in years and I think there are getting worse must be some kick ass cold bugs out there

You can take any of the common OTC remedies and your cold will only last 14 days, OR you can take nothing and your cold will only last 2 weeks. What I'm trying to say is these drugs will only lessen the effects of the cold a little, but drug companies just love you for buyiing them! Steam inhalations can be good. Boil some water, put it in a large bowl, cover your head with a towel and breath away. We used to put Vicks Vapour Rub in the water.

Nasal sprays, although not "addictive", if over used will cause the nasal mucosa to become inflamed which in turn will cause that awful congestion. It's a viscious cycle that's hard to break. Use sparingly.

As for Vitamin C... your body can only utilize 50 mg a day. The rest is excreted in your urine.

It's good thing colds aren't contagious thru internet sorry to hear , drink lot of fluid, water, gatorade to replenish your fluid. or if worse comes to worse, flu shot. that's what I did last time.

I was sick for almost the entire first two months of the year then a co worker told me about this wellness formula that is recommended by local schools to their teachers. Who knows if it works or not but I thought I've been getting sick a few times since getting them and started popping them as directed and never actually got sick. Most health food stores should carry it.
