Can it Be? New Trans AM

We can only hope, looks to be based on the new Camaro which seems very appropriate.

Yes, I believe it can be. I think the T/A is supposed to debut a year after the Camaro. Personally, I like the Camaro more.

A curious drawing. Any respectable Trans Am would have to have hidden headlights. The eagle has to go. Beyond that, a Pontiac version only makes sense. I'd be surprised if we DON'T see one.

Obviously you never saw Smokey & The Bandit! That was a real Trans Am! I sold my T/A WS6 to get my C but would love to have a T/A with that throwback look!

For some reason that picture reminds me of the movie "CARS"

As long as we are going there, the Camaro might do well with hideaway headlights (RS package). IIRC the bird was a delete item. Remember the Yellow Bird and Sky Bird, secretary cars. No need for them, just the T/A please with a WS6.

Yes PappaD, '76 (Jim Rockford's '74 was pretty sweet too) was a great year for looks, perhaps '72 is more nostalgic. '79 was pure horse piss with those ghastly rectangle holes in that horrible plastic beak.

Edit: Gotta have a bird on the hood!

You and me both. Here's the one I parted with.

I've read in the car mags that there will be no new Trans Am, but soon after the Camaro comes out we'll see a new GTO.

GM officially has no plans on bringing back the Firebird. That pic is a concept from an artist named Kevin Morgan. He, like me, frequents the Trans Am Country! message board. This is his MySpace page with more drawings of the car: www.myspace.com/transamconcept

This rendering has been all over the Internet and even published in a couple of magazines.

Here's my '73 Trans Am that I lost in Katrina.
