Anybody interested in an iPhone or 2?

I had a for-sale thread in the parts buy/sell area for the 2 iphones i have, until the admins felt it necessary to remove it tonight when i updated it, even though it had been up there for the last 3 days w/o it being removed or me being warned about it. in any case, i'm assuming this thread should be allowed in the OFF TOPIC section, and if I'm in violation of any more rules i apologize in advance. in any event, if anyone is interested in an iPhone I have 2 of them. My cousin picked one up over the weekend, and I have to say it is one cool gadget, and I was impressed by it. If i didnt just get my blackjack a few months ago, i think i would have taken the plunge on this one. i noticed that in NYC that the iphone is pretty widely available, but isn't the case in other parts of the country. Just curious, anybody know where there are shortages of the iPhone across the US? So far I've heard of in California, which i find ironic being that Apple is based in California. Where else are there shortages? I think I'm going to end up returning the 2 iPhones I have...so much for making a quick buck or two - it was worth a shot!

Just curious, why'd the for sale thread get deleted? Folks sell non car related stuff all the time?

Yes, it is ironic that Apple is located in Cupertino and the stores located just a few miles have been out of stock for the past couple of days. Stores hundreds and thousands of miles away have full stock. I guess there are more "techies" here. I am interested in the phone, but I am not paying over listed price.

I paid $650 for each phone (includes tax). I'm looking to just make a couple bucks off of them, nothing crazy. I have the sales receipts for both, so I can always return them to the store in the next week and get the whole $650 back to me for each one. I'm not putting them back on eBay, because by the time i pay the listing fees and final value fees, along with the unavoidable paypal fees, i have no profit left! Just fyi for anyone interested!

Im sorry but the people like you that go out and try to buy up what isnt supposed to be/going to be available b/c of the popular demand like with iPhone, Xbox 360, PS3, etc...Are scum bags! Let the people that are actually going to use the phone buy it. Im glad this backfired on you and you cant sell it for a profit, have fun eating the 10% restocking fee!

Your time would have been better spent investing the $1300 in the stock market.

Let that be a lesson to you.

BTW: Anybody wanna buy a Tickle me Elmo for $1,000???? I've had it since Christmas of '96.

A lesson in what? I invested in something that was going to give me a guaranteed return of breaking even, if not a profit. I don't know how many investments you can make with a guarantee like that, other than letting your money sit in a savings account or buying a CD. If nobody wants them on here, I'll just return them for a full refund, no restocking fees or anything. Out of pocket 0 dollars in the end, and I didn't even lose any of my time. I was in my local shopping mall and walked past the store and saw they still had them...I didn't even have to wait on a line...just walked right in the store and bought 2.
let me know what kind of stocks you invest in that give you a guaranteed return like that.

oh man! relax dude its called supply and demand - btw there is no restocking fee, good job with your info. I'm a scum bag for providing an item to people who cannot get it in their local area? for people who cannot get it in their area, they turn to eBay to buy it - whenever there is limited supply, there will always be a black market, all throughout history it has existed, and it will never stop. I literally walked into the store and bought a couple - didn't wait on line or steal it from someone who was looking to buy it for themselves and use it. besides, if i buy something, i can do whatever i want with it, whether it's resell it or keep it for myself. grow up.

Edit: just realized you got banned from the forum - i guess i didn't even need to dignify that post with a response.
