1997 Chevy Lumina

My parents have a 1997 Chevy Lumina "Lemona" 3.1L. Does anyone know which fuse to pull to reset the "computer"? I'm 1700 miles away and trying to help my 80 year old Dad to troubleshoot. I was going to have him disconnect the battery but the dumba$$ who designed the car put it under the washer fluid tank, out of reach
Thanks!

What kind of problems is he having? I've been doing some searching and from what I can gather disconnecting the battery seems to crop up all the time. They caution there's a lot of vaccum lines that may be brittle around it.

In one article there was a link on the idle relearning procedure after a battery disconnection - http://www.v6z24.com/howto/idlerelearn%20(http://www.v6z24.com/howto/idlerelearn. I have no idea how revalent this is to your dad's problem though.

If you can be a little more specific what the problem is that would help a lot.

I'm on Ask Question & Experts Answer You ASAP! Name Your Price, Get Online Advice & Help - JustAnswer right now and asked the question exactly how you posted it. It's some kind of wierd site that keeps asking me for money...haha. I'm telling it I'm poor.

Anyway a GM mechanic is asking what the problem is too. I replied I asked you...so now we wait.

I'm trying to reset the "computer". It's giving a EGR error code. I want to reset the computer and see if the code comes back. The car has had numerous erroneous error codes issues in the past along with 500 other problems. Hence me calling it a "Lemona"

You might just want to purchase yourself a ODB II code reader.
