some vendors prices ridiculous...Ranting!! (moved)

Man, I have been looking around at some of the sponsors prices on this forum and have found one particular vendor that is gouging huge. Anyone that cares to know can pm me and I will spill the beans.
It sucks cause not everyone here has the time to shop around,and/or do their own mods and a certain vendor is taking advantage of that.However with a little bit of phoning around or a little bit of time with everyones favorite search engine and you will see what I am saying.
Some things can be done at a local retailer for less than half ,and sometimes a third of what this one vendor charges.
Now, I am not trying to be a **** or stir chit up, however when I see someone trying to sell something like a burnt nav disk for $100.00 to a fellow member it pisses me of. We are supposed to be here for each other instead of trying to make $99.00 profit. Hmmm, a disk is what,$1......Maybe 2 bucks to ship....helping out a fellow member....priceless.

Some people just don't know, and they come here to find help and then they end up getting gouged...

Heres my advice weather u want it or not...
If you are getting paint work done, engine,interior pieces etc., just go to a local paint shop and get a price, you might be surprised at how much it ISN'T ...
If you want a custom grill , stop by a custom car/paint shop and see if its doable, I bet it is and probably at half the cost or less. Theres a whole bunch more but I am tired so maybe I'll get back to this post in the near future.
Heres another one, I have installed ebay hid's on 8 different cars, guess what, all the kits are pretty much all the same, they mostly all come from China,and just are labeled different, and kits that I picked up for $70.00 off ebay are still working 2 years later....!

Now, thats not to say that you should not support our vendors as MOST of them are indeed here to help , and some have amazing prices, youknow who you are, predator/cai...etc. hint hint.

Anyway, I just figured Id share cause i have recently spent a whack on mods and was on every vendors site and was blown away by some f the pricing......
And I think as a community we should stick together aaaaaand help each other out.

thats enough of my rant for now. I'll check in to see how hot this thread gets.

Feel free to PM me and I will let you know the exact products and vendors I think are gouging. And believe me, Im all about making and spending money, I am a total "consumer"
Its just a bit much when you are marking up products by 200% and then offering 10% off, or knocking off a few bucks on a group buy...... ridiculous.

And please spare me the "if u don't like it go elsewhere" etc speech cause I AM trying to help out fellow members.
Plus if that happens I will spill it all right on the forum.

And to the vendors who have great deals, you will stay in bsiness for a long time and I wish you all the best, a couple of you helped me lighten my wallet!!

Actually, the profit in your example is much lower:

$2.00 Dual layer disc
$4.00 Fuel cost to drive SRT to purchase disc
$5.00 Mileage expense for vehicle
$2.00 Postage
$1.00 padded envelope
$2.00 Laser burn royalty fee

Actually the guy he's talking about with the nav disk is not a vendor, but I do agree he's gouging BIG TIME! Not only that, he's openly stating he's violating copyright laws. Talk about taking money on the backs of fellow members...jeez.

Hey, i wrote this when I was very tired last night after spending a few thou online shopping ....I didnt wanna bitch however when vendors talk about how much they make , overhead etc etc. ,I just dont fall for it, I was in retail, know store owners, etc. and you wouldnt be retailing if there wasnt money to be made.

You know, most car audio is marked up more than DOUBLE .....

Anyway, I was just stating we should help eachother out and not all the vendors here are trying to help and work a deal....

Vendors that give 1 or 3 word answers when you email them with info and questions...One lucky vendor , who I am sure is still doin just fine without my business, does this all the time or even though they claim that there prices are so low they cant advertise , so you call and its the exact same price advertised on the site?

I think some vendors are onto the forums for one reason only, to make money off all the people who are too busy to shop around.

And lately I have noticed some group buys on a BMW forum I am on, and the price drops by $30.00 on a 700.00 item?! Good one. "we just need ten more people and it will drop another $10"....wtf.So instead of making $250.00 off one person you will make #220,00 off ten people.....cmon , remember to shop around and dont get caught up in all the excitement.

I am a huge consumer/ consumer advocate.....
And no I dont own an online store or any store !
Just trying to help out.
Remember, GOOGLE, and a pleasant phone demeaner will get you the best deals out there.
