That is too cold for me. I sometimes wonder how you can live in those cold temperatures.

In December I was up in Colorado where it was -4 degrees F. Surprisingly with little or no breeze and a bit of sunshine it was quite nice.

It's not that bad John. He's from Anchorage and the pic says only -5F. check out Fairbanks and it's -33F. I've been to both places and Anchorage gets relatively mild winters compared to western Canada and especially Fairbanks. We were skiing at -60F in a place near Fairbanks called Black Rapids and that's no fun no matter how much you like winter sports. If you're dressed for it, winter can be a lot of fun. I don't know whether I'm trying to convince you or me...haha.

Did I mention I hate winter?...haha!!!

Its been -35F at night here for nearly a week. Highs about -5. Finally warmed up to 0 during the day today. I live in the bottom of a valley @ 7700', known for its super cold weather. We collect the cold air that falls down from the higher mountains & river valleys (temperature inversion to be technical). I've got my old home torn apart for remodeling & my heater will not even keep up at night. I'm not complaining, but I went to a neighboring town yesterday to go to Home Depot and 20 above felt like I should be in shorts.

We've had a particularly snowy winter too (awesome snowboarding/skiing), but the DOW has resorted to feeding the deer & elk herds because the snow is so deep. This is only the 2nd time this has happened in the 13 years I've lived here.
The Denver Post - One bold effort to save Gunnison deer
The Denver Post - Deer-feeding volunteers overwhelm DOW

Even my friends from Anchorage thought it was cold when they lived here.

you don't know how deprived you are. there is nothing better then skidoo'ing at -35 C for 200km in a day and having an ice cold beer to end it.

well, our beautiful snow has all but been demolished by 80-100mph winds and 45* temps...supposed to cool down today and just turn into a crusty ice mess, im praying for more snow to make it pretty outside again..now its just all brown/icey

To each their own, I couldn't stand living somewhere without 4 seasons or blistering hot/humid. Although the extreme cold sucks, its only about a week or two a year. The rest of the winter is surprisingly tolerable. I moved here from Columbus, Ohio and I can honestly say I'd rather it be zero w/sun and no wind than 35 and raining. With the low humidity and abundant sun, it always feels better than the temp gauge (below -20 life does get difficult, thats what weeds out the weak). Also, the summers here are awesome mostly mid 70's, and again, little to no humidity. The running joke here is that you move here for the winters (skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, etc), but stay for the summers. I did, moved here to ski for one year after college, thirteen years ago.

300Girl, if you haven't ever even seen snow, please make time to. Try snowboarding or skiing, it may become your religion. My best friend moved here from Louisiana, to escape the city $h!t, and never left. I just finished a great day snowboarding with him, and we spent most the day discussing how lucky we are!

Well, I'm happy to report I just got back in after doing my driveway for the second time today. Looks like more snow is forecast. Haha, that's all I'm saying!!!
