ive been told there is some bot or whatever on this site.. so when say 1 person signs up to be a member.. the member count goes up by say 50 or so instead... true?

I don't know who would have told you that. It just doesn't make sense to me. If that were the case we'd have a million members by now. Are you saying there's 50 wanna300's here?...haha.

No... I saw that before.. ahem....

We have the same amount or ratio of members that other sitesz have.. as a forum matures and grows, many people sign up and never come back, some sign up completely and never post but visit over the years, and some just never post after a short while on the forum.

Our forum software doesn't add three members for every one that signs up as was claimed... but if it makes folks feel better, they can believe whatever they want.

We have had 16,910 sign up for an account (many more if you consider the spammers that have been deleted over the years).. but about 7241 have never posted, or are at 0 posts for other reasons. Many of those still come here often, just have nothing to say. They populate the online list (both online, and as guests... not signed in makes you a guest) every day. Many of course haven't been here in years. Other forums may have , say, 1229 members, but they also have 539 at o posts (as of this posting) for a ratio of 43% no posts versus our 42% no posts. Most forums have about the same ratio.

So all our members are "real", but we have about the same ratio of zero posters as most forums do. So we can put that crazy rumor to rest.

Back to our regularly scheduled program. LOL

No that won't be true. However many join up for the sole purpose of putting their websites link in their profile which will help rank their site higher in google (they think). That is why they have never posted anything.
