There are two cities I'd love to be in right now: Detroit and Davidson. Fadertoo, you ought to swing over on 40 and then down 77 and hit the Mooresvillle What-a-burger (not to be confused with Whataburger).

The Davidson game just recently ended and I'm already looking forward to seeing Davidson-Kansas.

Well, if I'd seen this about an hour ago, I could have been there about now. What goes on there? Don't tell me this is the place to watch the Wildcats!

I LOVED IT! If you guys would knock off Kansas for us Sunday, we'd be eternally grateful! That's assuming we make it by Louisville Saturday, which is not an easy assumption. I'm sure hoping, but they've got me a bit worried.

I guess I do, but in a way I don't, wanna see an all NC semi-final. (One of us should be on the other side of the bracket!) I'd have to pull for the Heels, but would rather them lose to Davidson than anyone else, before then or after! March Madness - gotta love it!

No, What-a-burger is definitley not a Davidson hang-out, except for those in the know, but it's just the best place to get food in the area. Cook Out isn't better or worse, just different. I just miss the place as much as I miss Cook Out, and so if I couldn't get a post-game What-a-cheesburger, I wanted someone to.

I agree btw, I wish UNC and Davidson were on opposite sides of the bracket.

There were two places to watch the game - the student union and The Brickhouse (bar 30 feet from campus)

Ah. Well, I may just have to check it out. Hickory's supposed to be getting three Cook Outs this summer. Never been there, either.

I wonder if both of them were pretty bare tonight, since all the students were in Detroit! I'll have to watch the news after the Kansas game. WBTV should have someone reporting from somewhere there. Congrats, btw. Must feel great!

Well, they had coverage live from The Brickhouse (still rockin' at midnight:30ish) and from during the game at the student union. It was packed, so not everyone made it to Detroit, apparently! The Brickhouse seemed to have an older crowd, definitely past student age, but just as enthusiastic - grads and townies, probably, plus likely a few neighbors that made the jaunt north up 77. Shame you couldn't have gotten down, but I know 6 hours each way would have been a bit of a haul. I'm sure you were there in spirit!

Yeah, if I would have been able to do 6 hours each way, I would have just chalked up a few more hours and money and gone to Detroit, but there was just no way I could do it with my schedule/bank account.

I think what I heard is that ~550 students (1/3 of the school) made it up, so there were quite a few left. That trustee paying for tickets thing only worked out so well - they could only find 7 buses, partly because 2 buses they had lined up backed out on them. They did pay for every student's ticket though, regardless of whether they got on a bus or not.

I just saw a post on the DavidsonCats message board - apparently Jason Richards (our point guard, you know, the guy leading the nation in assists) is going to be in the draft.

The thing about Davidson is that it's not just that it's a small school, but that it's the type of small school that the local retirement village sends 2 buses of residents to the home games.

The crowd apparently will be even more stacked for Sunday - school is organizing reinforcement buses.

Latest update is they got and filled 5 more charter buses. So, the trustees paid out of their own pockets for 7 buses + tickets + 2 nights of hotel for the occupants and now 5 buses + tickets for these occupants. Imagine what the convoy on the way back will look like.

One heck of a game. I would have liked Curry taken the last shot with even two guys on him than the point guard taken it. Davidson has no shame in their game. They can definitely hold their heads high.
