NJ speeding ticket

Okay so I got a ticket for speeding today . I was on my way to get my girl and I will admit I did pull away from the light faster than I should have and I look behind me and im getting pulled over . I may have been doing maybe 60mph in a 50mph zone and the bastard gives me 2 ticket one for doing 80mph and another reckless for "spinning tires" and tells me that he had me up to 84mph and was "helping me out by putting 80mph (ass) on radar. So im looking at the tickets and he put down that he was pacing me on the speeding ticket and the 2 tickets have different lincense plate experation dates. Im not too sure if i should get a lawer or just talk to the prosecutor and if there is any way at all i can get out of these tickets. Any help or opinions would be great.

honestly i dont think pacing is not an effective way of determining a speed limit. I got pulled over before going 60, and he said he was pacing me at 80, and he was 1/4 of a mile away how can you compare the speeds at that distance, when he was gaining on me he was going 80 but that only cuz he was so far away, i think some cops dont understand simple physics, but hey you cant blame them you done need college to be a cop, get a lawyer your get it either dropped or change to another ticket, " Obstruction of traffic" is what my lawyer goes for usually works unless you got a few.

Plead innocent, set a court date, and hope the cop doesn't show up on your court date. I have tried that 3 times. One time the cop didn't show and I won. The other two times the cops showed and I lost, but I always got a reduced fine.

Even without an attny., you are still entitled to full discovery, per NJ court rules & regulations. Radar in the moving mode requires additional documentation, than if the officer was stationary - just sitting on the side of the road.Unless the officer provides excellent testimony, Pace can be difficult to prove in NJ court. In fact, in many NJ departments, it is discouraged. Curriculum for Pace is not provided in the Radar Instruction course (needed for the certification to operate doppler Radar), mandated by the NJ Attny.Generals Office.
Per NJ case law, the officer can write a lower speed on the ticket than originaly stopped, or "locked in". But in your case, I really can't say he was "helping you out". Writing the incorrect expiration on one summons, will not benefit you either in court, per case law.
Wheel spin = wreckless ? Hardly. It may be considered Careless, but again it must be proven you were operating in a "careless manner".
Plead not guilty & speak with the local prosecutor, prior to getting an attny and putting out the extra money. If you have not recently received a moving violation, you are entitled to have your current moving violation downgraded to this statute - 39:4-97.2 ( moving but WITH NO POINTS). If they don't budge, request a postponment for representation. A simple error in the required documentation, or lack there of in discovery, can easily make a difference.

Sorry to hear about your ticket. I passed a cop today and I was going around 80-85 mph, and he didn't pull me over. He never even pulled out. I thought for sure I was going to get a ticket, but today was my lucky day.

If there was a painted limit line at the light you could claim that the "spinning tires" was due to loss of traction on the paint. I hate when that happens!
