New Sayings Needed

Some of you intelligent minds should come up with something new for these old and overused sayings.

"I pulled the trigger" on a new ?

The "best bang for the buck"

A new (whatever)" is in the stable"

How about these possible replacement phrases:

"I plunked down a wad of cash on a rippin new ride so I can drive my ho's around in grand fashion."

"I made the purchase that I thought would be a good value for myself."

"I got myself a new ride, and the 22's are going on it next week."

How about "dented my bank account by purchasing a powerful penile substitute"?
But seriously...
American English has a lot of cowboy, frontier & colonial colloquialisms in it. Not a lot of folks can conduct a conversation without throwing in a slang phrase or two. These days adults even sound like Valley girls (and boys) with their surfer dude kewlness. Not that Australian or British English is any different - those folks also have their unique speech patterns and colloquialisms.

The one phrase that puzzles a lot of people is "the whole nine yards". Most of us think it has something to do with Am. football, turns out it means a load of bricks.

What about something car related such as...

"I punched the pedal" or "Floored it" on a new...?

"More Miles Per Gallon" or "MPGs'"

still working on that third one...lol

Actually if I am right the 9 yards referred to a the 9 yards of bullets in a machine gun.

Not that Australian or British English is any different - those folks also have their unique speech patterns and colloquialisms.

Us Aussies reckon we don't have an accent, but the rest of the world does

But you are right, we do have some unique Australianisms. Now get out there and root for someone

Could it be the amount of sails on a sailing ship ?

The Straight Dope: What's the origin of "the whole nine yards"?

and Midnight Rider, you need to come up with no.3
