I'm going to post up some pictures tonight. I actually kept the car relatively clean, except for fighting the bugs... as you will see.

Had a great time in Columbus... and once again, Eric, I didn't get a picture of your family!

Well... first things first grinner! Computer was down for a few days (hard drive crash - not the C drive) so I haven't posted the pictures yet.

Also, grin... as I suspected, we don't have those blank broadcast-type tapes any longer.

Glad you had a nice safe trip GT. Sounds like the road trip was a nice experience…especially meeting Eric and his family. I will enjoy seeing your pics whenever you get them up. Thanks for sharing.

Ok here are a few pix...

Tom Hendrickson (aka Pigman440) in Columbus where we met for Breakfast at the Golden Corral. He came in the van, so he wanted the picture with my MSRT8... naturally.

EricG's 300C SRT8 in Cincinatti... somehow I didn't get a picture of his family although I was sure that I took one.

Somehow I didn't take a photo of grinner and family either... I'm going to have to pull something off video for them.

Here's the awesome thunderhead out in Denver... and then with the MSRT8 in perspective...

And here's the "bug shot" the morning after that fun little run on the twisty road down by the river...

Here's some shots of my isolation and overnight at the rest stop in the middle of MO on the way home.

Now for the pix from video grabs... the grinner and his wife who grilled a nice little dinner for someone they had barely met.

Another shot of the car with a storm cloud in the background... this one below the sun beams.

The graduate getting his diploma (coming down the ramp) and then lookin' it over back at his seat.

those are some good picts. I think the thunderhead shots. Bugs look a little small, which is nice. I had to get some pliers to pull a grasshopper out of my fog area.

Just as grinner took a old home road trip, I returned to the little KS town (Marquette, population aprox. 600) where I grew up for the first time in about 20 years I think.

This is the little church (one of three in the town) in which my father served as pastor for 14 years (mid-5th grade for me, nearly through college). Now the congregation has switched to a different denomination, similar in church administration and fundamental belief, but not the same as when we lived here.

The is the house/parsonage in which we lived for most of those years... It looks a whole lot better than I remember it ever looked as a kid. The tree to the right is a Sycamore tree that my folks planted, probably around 1965-66.

About the time I went to college, the church approved a project to build a new parsonage, which pretty much was designed and built by my dad. Although I lived there only a couple of summers, and they a couple of years before they moved to another small town in SE Iowa just before my last year in college. The way I remember the house the siding was a forest green.

The town had a high school when I was there. Now there is only an elementary school... the original 3-story fortress of a building having been long since razed to the ground.

This "home" used to be our school cafeteria, located one small block away from the school grounds. Looks like the current residents could give some attention to the siding! The tennis courts behind the cafeteria were right behind that first parsonage as well. This is where I first learned to play tennis.

This was our athletic fields... football, track and baseball... still look just as I remember.

This is the city swimming pool. It was built the summer before my Sr. year in H.S. Had a great manager that first summer. A former NCAA diver. I worked as a life guard. The next summer two other college guys got the managing contract, but then abandoned the pool after not much more than a month. I was asked to take over as pool manager (with my dad's help), and I managed the pool in the summers thereafter until our family left for Iowa.
