Now for some more people pictures... starting with our good friends in STL area where I spent the night after the grinner dinner. They immediately put a picture of our granddaughter on their refrig...

The older man in this photo is husband to the woman in the next, and that is his youngest son behind him. This couple was very close to my parents and they continue to farm with the help of their son. The mom is the town librarian, and they have a facility (quite unique for such a small town) that is open 3 days a week.

The next two photos relate to friends of mine which were a year ahead of me (for a time I dated one of their classmates). The first is Steve Piper, the former mayor of the town (for something like 10+ years) and is the owner of the town grocery which is the location of this picture.

And this is Alan Lindfors, the current mayor and also president of the local bank! The two women were classmates of my sister and had all kinds of questions about her. BTW Alan's sister Pam, is the current manager at the pool, but she had left for the day by the time I got down to the park.

I guess I should mention that the TV repair shop at the time we lived in Marquette was owned by a famous motorcycle racer in KS, Stan Engdahl. He had a dyno shop for his motorcylce racing bikes behind the TV reapir/electronics store. Dad spent lots of time down there because besides the ministry, he was very mechanically inclined and interested in motors and powerful engines, etc. There is a growing motorcycle museum where the shop one stood, and although he passed away late last year, they continue to have quite a collection. You can read about it here: Kansas Motorcycle Museum. They have started an annual gathering of cyclists in town, much like Sturgis but on a smaller scale. In the past couple of years this event has brough over 5000 cycles to town for the event. WOW. Not bad for a town of 600!
