WOW another "speacial edition" Mustang. How many editions can you have on one vehicle. Oh and this one is green too. lol It's Mopar or no car for me.

The nice thing about Mustangs is you can mod the heck out of them, with a MAF so no speed density issues, plus a manual transmission, and most important of all MUCH lighter. To me, this new Challenger is nonsense. It's just a giant heavy sedan with two doors. The SRT8s are great sure. but if it's anything like the 300C SRT8 which weighs basically the same, there's just so much momentum there. Those special editions Mustangs are stupid, but you can get a regular GT, get a Roush supercharger and suspension (IMHO the suspension is the one to get first; I found the Mustang lacking in the turns, but I drove one that had a Roush suspension and it was quite good) and you have a really great muscle car.

I'll agree with ya, the Challenger is sexy but it makes absolutely no sense - it's as long as our 300Cs are o_O

I found it amusing that the announcer actually praised the Challenger interior. The Challenger has the worst out of all LX interiors. And we all know how lacking the LX interiors are. I guess that makes the Mustang interiors God aweful.

You know, it's funny, but I actually found the Mustang interior to be pretty good...well, for the money (after all, you can get well-equipped GT's for under $22k). Now, the Mustang rental car interiors are horrid (and I confirmed with a Ford engineer that the two interiors don't come off the same assembly line). Perhaps the Challenger's interior is praiseworthy against the Mustang (I've never seen a Challenger in person, but IMHO the mustang's interior was just a smidge below 300 SRT8...though those garbage-can-plastic rear view mirrors and mast antenna ruin the car), but look at the price difference.

Dude, he expects a dash where they make it out of solid plastic, then get a layer of foam, put it down, and then put a layer of vinyl on top of that, not the kind we get with the rubbery stuff and foam that glues onto the hard plastic.

It's sorta unfortunate that either you get a performance car with a "horrid" interior and great exterior, or a wonderful interior and a horrid exterior (I'm sick of G35s/Zs and their interior isn't all that good IMHO)

IMHO though, anything with a hoffmeister kink is horrid as far as exterior is concerned.

The problem with the former is as nice as they look, you leave them out in the sun too long and they'll crack (leather dashes are even nicer...and look even worse after years in the sun...or when someone does a windsheild chip repair). I've never seen the dense rubber kind like BMW uses crack.

You don't like BMWs from 1960s forward? (and it's Hofmeister).

The honest truth is I've never really liked BMW's styling, however I think sometime between 2002 and 2003 it went from "eh" to "eew yuck".

Here's the thing:
*I don't really like the Hofmeister kink, not since it first appeared in the 50's on american cars
*I never liked the kidney grille, not in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, or now
*I don't like bangle butt
*I don't like the "We shoved the wax prototype in the air tunnel with a blow torch to see if it'd look better" styling theme they call flame surfacing or whatever
*I don't like the fact that every time BMW does something hideous, the whole industry goes ga ga and copies it until I feel like throwing up every time I see a car that remotely resembles a 5 series
*I don't like the current style of hofmeister kink because it almost always means the door has a straight line that goes all the way down from the top of the kink (basically, the top rear of the back door's window), all the way down to the sideskirt)
*And I hate their "bulging" technique, clearly stolen from the 90's Ford Taurus (that kink in the beltline on the side of the car), hehe.
* I don't like any of the "small" details either.. their interiors almost never flow, even stupid things like the windshield wiper arms somehow look ugly.

And the funny thing is, people almost never buy a BMW for any of that stuff - they buy it to impress their neighbors, or they buy it for the "driving experience".

So no, I still don't get the big deal.
