I’ve got lots of physical therapy ahead of me. So I'll stop by as I can.
Well danno, there is hope! Push for a proper resolution...it can be done! The District Attoneys office in my county did hold people responsible for their unsafe driving habits and even a DUI during a huge fog related pileup that killed two people, one being a little boy, and injured many others not to mention all the vehicle carnage.

Here is the story of the recent outcome months later...

Just an update. This past Friday there was a hearing for the driver of the dump truck. He was trying to get out of his ticket. I was called as a witness as well as my passenger. The judge took one look at the pictures of my poor 300SRT8 and totally went off on the driver and his carelessness. The driver was ordered to pay a $500 fine and is responsible for full financial restitution of all damages and injuries. He also had is license suspended for 6 months. The judge put the man in tears and his wife burst out crying in the back. All he could do is sob that he was sorry to me and my passenger. It was a difficult day as the whole mess had to be rehashed. The dude does have insurance and they will be responsible for my injuries and damages. I feel good about the outcome and feel justice was served.

The healing continues, but I've just had to have shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff. Luckily my family is visiting and I've got help typing tonight!

danno,
I'm glad you had your day in court with the guilty party. I can't believe he was trying to get out of his ticket which should have been a bigger fine IMO. His wreckless carelessness just about did you in, like your poor SRT.

It's always nice, though, when the survivors can have some type of closure in order to just move one with life.

I'm sorry to hear you had a subsequent surgery and still need more therapy to complete your healing. What a mess!

Nice to hear you have family members there to help you out, especially with forum posts, lol! I hope you are also being compensated by his insurance company for loss of income.

Keep on posting away. We especially don't want to miss all the hoopla when you do get to drive your Challenger for the very first time!

bruno

I'm curious, what was he charged with? I wonder if the reason he was trying to get out of the ticket is that it's the type of ticket that would disqualify him for a CDL (thereby taking away his way to make a living). I can't imagine fighting it if it were just something like unsafe movement.

Here's to a speedy recovery, Brother!! Sorry you had to re-hash that day, i am sure that was an emotional nightmare.

Kind of hard to go from "I wasn't at fault, to 'I am so sorry'" but I am sure in the end the souls will heal and grow.
