Did you hear that the president tried to pass a "drill here drill now" kind of policy but the dems shot it down?

I know. It sucks... But around here i did notice that ever since bush announced that he wants to drill here now, gas prices have dropped slightly then frozen.

This really is a speculator problem. If just the thought that we may start drilling now causes gas to drop and then freeze, (instead of the daily climb we normally see) imagine what it would do if we really did start drilling. - let alone start seeing our own oil.

IF we could get McCain to drill ANWAR I would be much more pleased with him. I want our next president to put the pedal to the metal finding new oil resources until our alternative resources come into play. We need to disband ethanol quickly before food prices go through the sky!

I like everything this guys says except:

"Release strategic oil reserves"

This reserve is what will keep our country safe from total destruction if we were suddenly attacked. This is the life line for our armed forces. Even if all else fails, this reserve is there to keep our military might going even when there is not a drop of oil anywhere else.

This is something I feel very strongly about.

Yes it may have a great effect on gas prices if we did release it but we would be taking a HUGE gamble if during that time we were attacked.

That's definitely a concern. I think since we produce 40% of our own oil and the military I am told can make fuel out of coal the risk wouldn't be too high.

We can make oil out of coal - and we can pump the emissions back into ground to re use them with little to no environmental issues.

Congress today has finally allowed for test drilling in ANWR! The oil companies didnt waste any time either, already producing over 150 samples!

This is great news and just the news alone has caused a huge dip in crude oil prices.

Its not our own oil bro...why dont you understand that? Lifting the ban on offshore drilling only lets companies like Exxon drill off of our shores. Then they have barrels of oil to do with what they wish. If you had a bunch of barrels of oil, where would you sell them? In the US? Guess again, we pay less than any other country in the world.

I believe currently there is a senator trying to push through a bill that would guarantee that all oil drilled offshore would go to the US. If that was the case, I would march with you guys straight to congress.

The fact of the matter is that we would probably see an extremely small margin of the oil drilled off of our shores. China would reap the benefits yet again, all while the oil companies rake in more and more money.

I know I drive a mazda so I guess that doesnt make my point relevant

Where have you read or heard that the oil that will be drilled by the oil companies off the shores of America will be sold to America exclusively?
