$2.00 or LESS a gallon for gas!

Thousands of people a day have started calling into their state congressmen begging and pleading with them to do something about oil prices.

Normally I don’t every like to get involved in this sort of thing but with gas prices the way they are and natural gas (the stuff a lot of people heat their homes with) about to double in price, people are going to freeze this winter. Now there is something you can do that will make gas drop back down to around $2 a gallon or less.

President Bush today released a statement today that we need to make the USA energy independent by drilling for more of our own oil. Currently just off the US shore alone, we have 11 Trillion dollars in available oil that we could drill for. So far congress has not allowed us to go after our own oil. (do our congressmen pay for gas?!)

Information was also just released today that if we tapped into that 11 TRILLION dollar oil deposit, the USA would become energy independent at NO COST to the environment. This means that #1 we would not have to rely on middle eastern countries for oil. #2 With no dependency on foreign oil, our gas prices would drop down to 30-60$ per barrel. That’s $2.00 or less at the pump. #3 The environmentalists and Al Gore actually have nothing to cry about if we drill.

Congress needs to act now to bring a real solution to our fuel costs. So far, congress has been the major roadblock for turning the US energy independent. Please call your congressmen and pass this along to everyone you know.

Tell him to Drill Here, Drill Now! If you are met with opposition or his staff who are unsure of his position on the topic, tell them what your position is and that in the United States of America, congress works for you.

Here is a link you can use to contact your congressmen.

drilling now wont do a damn thing to oil prices right now, at the very least if they drilled tomarrow it would take at LEAST 5 years(pipe dream) to get it out to the market and realistically it would be 10 years. But thats not even considering the fact that there is a shortage of Rigs on the market to begin with. It takes about 3-5 years to build a new rig and even rigs that arent even built yet already have contracts on them. And to get a rig built, the US will have to wait in line with petrobras, lukeoil, and many others that have rigs backordered. Your looking at, at least 15 years at least for this action to affect any supply and thats if they even find enough oil to even make a difference.

this action is purely political

Ah thats where you are wrong my friend.

First, actually it would take only 5-7 months to get new domestic oil infrastructure online. This has been proven by oil companies who are ready to go in as soon as they get the go ahead from congress.

Second, 5-7 months may still seam like a long time BUT just the action of congress passing this would cause #1 middle eastern oil producers to drop the price they sell the oil to us, and #2 the price speculators to drop the oil futures cost resulting in a much lower price until the new domestic oil actually hit the market.

Third, 11 TRILLION BARRELS OF OIL, just in one of shore location. That amount ALONE would make us energy independent from foreign oil. This doesnt even take into consider the TRILLIONS of barrels more located in Alaska, other off shore locations, and in our own mountains all across the united states.

it takes 5-10 years to get oil to the market. not months.
you have to remember most all this drilling is OFFSHORE DRILLING its totally different than land driller. there are NO OFFSHORE RIGS avalible to be contracted right now. It takes 3-5 years to biuld a offshroe rig and even ones that are getting built now even have contracts on them.

no one has spoke of trillions to be found on what bush was talking about, dont pull numbers out of thin air

Bush Urges Lifting US Ban On Offshore Oil Drilling - Politics and Government * US * News * Story - MSNBC.com
that link specifically states there is only a possibility for 18 billion barrels in the locations discussed in the banned locations. NOT TRILLIONS.
AND it also states that it would likely take over a decade to get that oil if found to the market.

Whats the point of arguing with Jblue anything energy related to him is all political driven and he doesnt care what you have to say.

Now that is a purely political statement.

From the middle east, it takes 6-8 weeks from well head to refinery to cargo-ship to the US ready for sale.

From Canada and Mexico, 2-3 weeks depending on if its coming from pipeline or tanker. (pipeline is much quicker)

11 trillion barrels came from the very companies who want to drill domestically. Theses are the people who study oil levels in different locations in the earth for a living. Believe me, i dont go by everything Bush says... But this time he's right.

Okay now, no need to assume anything.

There's always two sides (or more) to a debate.. so let 'em speak without judging their political/economical/personal views.

You also cant go by what the major media tells us. You have to do the research for your self and get it straight from the source before the media can get ahold of it and put its spin on it.
