Hi guys,

Found this story at road and track, looks like the results will be announced tomorrow. It should be interesting to see how this turns out...

How does using a track that wasn't yet complete not give one car an advantage? If their strengths are in different areas, then every track will necessarily favor one car over the other at least slightly.

their words

Cadillac is the hungry challenger, making no secret that it has benchmarked the M5 in producing its new 556-bhp CTS-V, right down to specifying the same Michelin PS2 To keep things fair we arranged the use of a track that wasn't even finished being built yet and thus one that wouldn't give — driver or car — an advantage. The Monticello Motor Club in New York was still laying sod and installing the front gate when we showed up. This glorious track is long and fast—a perfect venue for testing these ultra sedans.

Since Caddy announced that they were gunning for Beemer, the comparison is perfect.

I don't have a dog in the fight, because I don't like either car, but if you ask me long and fast sounds like a track that will favor the Caddy.

I bet the caddy will smoke the m5 on the straights. even though the bimmer has 500 horses, it always seems to fall short against the competition (e55/e63). I love the BMW though, my dad had a black m5 when it was reintroduced in 2000 with the 400 hp motor. that is probably my favorite car of all time.
