Angry well this is crap...

So they found this nice Coliform Bacteria in the water supply of the city in which I live..

Coliform bacteria found in Downey water distribution system - 9/26/08 - Los Angeles-Southern California-LA Breaking News, Weather, Traffic, Sports - abc7.com

Bacteria found in Downey's water supply - Los Angeles Times

so the city has to evacuate the water wells, to do this they open up all the fire hydrants and release valves in the city and drain the wells down the sewer..

how nice..

they started doing this late last night..

well.............

the corner of my front lawn is where one of those release valves is located..

at 1am this morning the DWP shows up, digs a 10 foot by 20 foot trench across my front lawn, destroys my flower/rose bed.. turns on the water from MY spigot and runs MY garden hose down the sewer and leaves it running all phuking night..

the city has right of easement for 18 inches... not phuking 10 feet into my lawn, and on to my property, and they sure as hell have no damn right to enter my back yard, thru a LOCKED (deadbolted) Rod-iron Gate, take my hose and run MY water that I have to pay for down the sewer...

I have been on the phone all freaking morning tearing into the DWP, City Council and the Mayor's office...

someone is paying my water bill this month and that same someone is rebuilding my landscape that I paid a lot of money to build last summer, and that someone ISN'T going to be me....

great

sounds like the time I left for work, forgot something, came back home and a large county truck is in the front yard. Not the street, the YARD! A parade of 12 laborers is headed into my back yard with shovels and such.

I corralled the supervisor and they weren't even in the correct area! He could not even read a map!

You're lucky they didn't tear your house down.

(I think I hear "Rhode Island")

Did they install a flush metering device inplace of your usual metering device? If so you won't be billed.
They are probably responsible to return your property to its original condition, which will take years of your time.

nope they didn't, they dug up the lawn, opened the valve, then ran my hose down the sewer and left..

my water meter is on the other side of the property and they didn't touch it..

and yes I am aware of the years of my time... I've been thru this before with the City..

10 years ago they decided to add a center divider and some nice plants off the main blvd across from my home, they tapped in to the pressure line in my front lawn.

took 3 years to get them to pay me back for the damage they did to the lawn, MY lawn sprinkler plumbing, and the sink hole they created that collapsed the retaining wall...
