Fortunately she is ok though since the impact was at such a low speed. The kid that hit her (fresh outta high school) was insured -awesome- and was as nice as could be. By the time I was on the scene he was still apologizing as I was told he had been doing since he hit her lol.
Anyway, we got his insurance info and called State Farm when we got back home. Shortly after that the kid's sister gives us a call to beg us not to call insurance and ask if he could just pay out of pocket. I apologized and said the deed had been done but also told her he wouldn't want to pay out of pocket for the damages. When I told her the damages would easily be a couple thousand at minimum she FLIPPED OUT and started yelling at me about how it wouldn't cost that much to pull out a ****ing bumper. I calmly told her that she was probably right, but to replace the bumper, repaint a new one, fix and/or replace everything behind the bumper, and replace the cracked tail light would cost a lot more. So she angrily hung up.
Ten minutes later the kid that rear ended her called us to apologize for his sister's behavior (which I thought was hilarious). I told him that it was ok and that what his sister said didn't make us think any less of him. Afterall, he was as nice as could be and I let him know how impressed me and the mrs were with the way he handled everything and that was that.
Here's the "car"nage.
BTW, he was driving a 1995 Chevy Blazer with tow hooks protruding from the bumper. He realized he wouldn't be able to stop in time and tried to swerve right, but no bones. You can't see it but the tail light is cracked as well.

Glad it was just a fender bender and your wife didn't get hurt. At least this young man had good manners unlike the sister. Accidents such as this one happen all the time and her car will be put back together as if it was brand new. Now, when are you going to start modding your wife's car?
Glad your wife is ok and glad the kid was at least respectful. I gotta say the last time I was hit I made the driver cry and the passenger put his head down (Driver, 40's something mother, passenger 16 something son). But when someone come across three lanes of no traffic at midnight and hits you in the door wen you are at a stop light, you tend to get mad.

Sorry to hear this. Like everyone has already stated, glad to hear your wife is ok!
Maybe now's a good time to get an SRT so you can speed away from these things
Seriously glad all is ok considering.
sorry to see and hear that happened, but im glad your wife is OK, and the kid was polite and responsible. gives me some faith. beats the forum member who got hit by the mustang, and the mustang driver's first words were "my bad".

Haha! I know that electric motor has more kick in it somewhere!!! As far as mods, notice the mud flaps? Yeaaah. She also got HIDs but hated them so she made me take them out They were even 4300k!
Gucci, that would be hilarious! She's used to backing her little hybrid down the driveway in electric mode. If she started her car to a blasting roar I'd be in so much trouble!
Brett, why so serious? lol jk. Stupidity like that deserves a firm tone it sounds like.
Will, glad to hear the wife's ok... car's are just metal at the end of the day, we can fix them easy enough, in your line of work I'm sure you know all to well that bones don't heal as easily! Glad your family is ok! Now as for the young guy that got ya, well mistakes happen, at least he was putting it right by being humble. So many punks out there (like his sister!) that just run their mouth's like it was your fault, anything to pass the monkey right?!
The best new's out of all....... it wasn't your car!
