Hey guys check this out. This was posted in the LXF, by nightshade, it gives me a new better Control Panel Applet called "GodMod"
On the desktop, create a folder and name it:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Pretty neat. Gives you a total control panel.. all options are exposed.. instead of the 20 item control panel, there are 285 (at least on ultimate there are 285)..

I saw that over there, I thought it was pretty cool. I did a search for more Easter eggs and found out that it's illegal for the programmers to put them into software. Now there are plenty of tips and tricks you can do.
Thanks Charlie. Many of these Easter Eggs can also be used on Vista as well.
I tried that on my Vista Home Premium 64 bit the night that was posted and it crashed my machine with an endless loop of Explorer closing and restarting. I couldn't even shut down normally. Apparently some Vista 64 bit machines are suseptable to this, so just a word of caution. Others with the Vista OS were able to do this though.
About the only way to deal with this is to boot to the Cmd prompt and navigate to:
cd c:\users\xxxxxxx\desktop (x's are the name of the user)
rd GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Reboot and all should be fine. I wish I could have remembered that syntax at the time. It would have saved me using Norton Ghost to restore my system.

lol it's not illegal to put easter eggs in software, but at a lot of companies it will get you in trouble/fired.
This godmode thing isn't an easter egg, I was reading about it a few days ago, it's just that the commands after 'godmode' are some random crap to tell windows explorer what to display.
FWIW every one of those options is in control panel. It's just that control panel in Windows is such a mess.
It's always traumatic to switch to a new operating system. I just finished going from XP32 to Windows 7 64 bit. I want my old Control Panel back but I guess I will get used to the new one. No Outlook Express so I have to get used to a new email program. Tried Thunderbird 3 but it would receive but not send email. Eudora works. Windows Media Player is good but has some obnoxious features. Fortunately my expensive CAD and structural design software programs function. My computer under XP used to control the cooling fans by temperature but now it just runs them full speed all the time. At least I can hope that there will be no need for a 128 bit Windows in my lifetime. I do like having 8 gigs of ram available so I made the plunge.

Almost every single bit of software has an Easter Egg hidden in it. Almost all video games have them in there (most people would call these cheats). The really good ones take forever to find.
The best example I can think of off-hand is Mew actually being in the original series of Pokemon USA games, tucked in some ridiculous 200+ step pattern to get him. This took 10+ years to be discovered, and could not be found by anyone who cracked the code, as this part of the code was under a different encryption. Very impressive programming.

Are you talken about the pokemon missingno, the one that looks like a barcode? Because i recall having to go into the cave for mewtwo, but you said MEW so is there actually a mew in the red/blue version? if so i'm deffinately whipping out my old school gameboy color
