How sweet - Hands across the Water

This is so nice -our UK brethern exchanging warm sentiments back and forth with their American and Canadian compatriots.

Sorta warms the heart of my cockles. In fact I might just hafta burst out into song: (with apologies to Sir Paul)

We’re so sorry uncle albert
We’re so sorry if we caused you any pain
We’re so sorry uncle albert
But there’s no one left at home
And I believe I’m gonna rain
We’re so sorry but we haven’t heard a thing all day
We’re so sorry uncle albert
But if anything should happen we’ll be sure to give a ring

We’re so sorry uncle albert
But we haven’t done a bloody thing all day
We’re so sorry uncle albert
But the kettle’s on the boil and we’re so easily called away

Hand across the water (water)
Heads across the sky
Hand across the water (water)
Heads across the sky
Admiral halsey notified me
He had to have a berth or he couldn’t get to sea
I had another look and I had a cup of tea and butter pie
(the butter wouldn’t melt so I put it in the pie)

Hand across the water (water)
Heads across the sky
Hand across the water (water)
Heads across the sky

Live a little be a gypsy, get around(get around)
Get your feet up off the ground
Live a little, get around
Live a little be a gypsy, get around(get around)
Get your feet up off the ground
Live a little, get around

Hand across the water (water)
Heads across the sky
Hand across the water (water)
Heads across the sky

ah greetings and felicitations to my friends in the third world.

Alas, I am about to set off on my trip to your wasteland (Kentucky & Tennessee) and I will not be able to write to you for several days (unless they have invented a steam powered comuter to use).

I will be bringing food parcels, clean drinking water and most importantly a sense of humour for you misguided souls to enjoy.

So for now - tally ho & chocks away Ginger

Murphy The Cat

p.s. thank you for the song N.R. it brought a tear to my monocled eye.
also if anyone wants to say hello to us while we are on the wrong side of the English Ocean, I enclose a recent family picture

It may be good to set-up a members club or something and take advantage of group buys and/or importing parts.
Servicing might be an interesting topic too.
Be good to hear from you.

I have just ordered a 300c Hemi due in Feb 2006, I know there is one being collecting tomorrow by a Wigan footballer, not sure who he is though...
How many people are needed to set up a club or could it be part of this one...

I've been eagerly awaiting news of our friend Murphy's return to England. I fully expected his expedition to KY and TN would bring forth a fusillade of doggerel regarding the sad shape of life in the hinterlands. Not hearing from him, I made some discreet inquiries. Imagine my surprise to find out that ol' Murph has gone native. He's developed a hopeless addiction to watery beer and American telly and has sunk into a deep depression about the thought of returning to Blighty. Here's a spyshot:

Well shiver me timbers and call me a frenchie, but is that Lord Geordie of Tyneside that I spy posting on this very thread

Ahoy there Lord Geordie your delight must be high at the moment after your boys meeted out a vicious beating to the Gunners on Saturday - and that it was that well known local boy Earl Nobby Solano who did the deed it must have been especially pleasing for you. Please may you join me and all other right thinking people and say loudly "Hurray, I'm glad you gave it up the Arse".

I know that you have been in distant lands recently Geordie, but did you know that I to have been travelling ? In my case I have been visiting one of the most culturally impoverished places known to man - yes, Americania.

It was a long trip made harder by the natives not speaking the worlds language, The Queens (gawd bless her) English but instead a combination of our blessed tongue and something that a infant chimp would use. It is just as well that the traditional English way of dealing with savages is still effective i.e. shout loudly, wave arms and enquire if there is someone in this town who speaks properly is available. Fortunately, in most cases a man wearing a red coat (with several patched up bullet holes in it ) made himself known and we could trade amicably again.

While in the wastelands of the American Heartlands I chanced upon the town of Paris (what a bloddy awful name for a place, I assume that cess-pit was already taken) in Tennessee and to my delight I discovered that there was a purveyor of accessories for the Chrysler 300C in said town. Quicker than you could say "quick, run the Germans are coming" (tenuous french link) I was in the establishment and after some hard bargaining I managed to barter some parts for my new car from them - and the best bit is that instead of real money they insisted that I paid them in play money, can you believe it they wanted Dollars. I was so happy that I forgot to tell them that the English translation for Paris is turd.

My time in Americania went very quickly, but while there I decided to enjoy their culinary expertise. After 7 days I looked like this
but I am gald to report that I am now my usual trim self.

So long Lord Geordie, but t'is time to go and watch "Top Gear" on the cathode ray tube.

Until the next time

Murphy The Cat

p.s. dear Mr Healey Rick
if you do insist on posting pictures of me, please can you refrain from posting one that shows me scratching my unfeasably large penis.

Murph,

Glad to see you made it back to your wretched little hovel of an island which you delusionally refer to as an "Empire". Please be advised that our government representatives were extremely pleased with assisting you with your return travel arrangements:

They did, however, express some puzzlement at your display of gratitude for their assistance:

Hardly the display one would expect from a proper English gentleman.
I am given to understand the whole trip to the colonies was so traumatic
for you that you immediately visited the local publican to drown your troubles in a pint:

I remain,
Your most humble servant
Rick

P.S. My most sincere apologies for posting the picture of you with your privates exposed, however it was the only one I could find where you were not licking yourself.

Indeed you could use my name Lord Geordie, as I believe even the inbred redneck peasant that I dealt with will remember the meeting with one of his future rulers.

If I recall correctly, just go to the front reception and hold down the bell for about 30 seconds or so. If that doesn't work I found that hollering "do any of you workshy Yankee, bourbon swigging turd burglars realise who I am and do you not realise how important I am" elicited a response. It may work for you as well.

At the conclusion of the deal I patted the worker prole on the head and bidded him a good day. He said that he wished to see my Redcoated Limey arse in the bottom of a ditch so that he could urinate over me.

What a sense of humour. He must have got it from his father/brother/uncle/cousin/son/grandad/probably all the same person anyway.

Any way it's time to go home for lots of ginger ale and sticky pudding.

Tally Ho
