Arnie's tour of the Lake District cont'd

A brighter (& warmer as well, today it's 7 deg C) day in the Lakes, all the better for driving about and taking some pictures.

For anyone who has never been to England before, I will let you into a little secret. Arnie (& other 300c's) are about the biggest cars on the road over here and are also without doubt the most distinctive. These pictures (while not award winning) took a long time to take - every time I stopped people would come and want a look around Arnie and ask a few questions - so far all people have been positive.

OK, so here in the Lake District today.
These two were taken at Gummers How looking down and across onto Lakeside

This picture was taken just before the Belsfield Hotel on the A592

I hope that you enjoy the pics

Great Pics, Murph!

Give us some "comments" from the locals, please.

Is that Lake Windemere?

Arnie and the 'Cat'

Hey there MTC...How many signed pics have you sold today to the tourists?

It's looking better every time I see it. Must be getting near time for the first 'bucket and sponge' routine!

Geordie

P.S. About time you answered those PM's rather than 'poncing' around the Lake District!

trying to get the hang of pic resizing, so sorry about the monsters earlier if you are on dial up - whoops

Okey dokey & on with the show.

NR, yes that is Lake Widermere in the background. It is Englands largest lake at 10.5 miles long - or as Canadians/Americans would call it, a puddle compared to ours. Beatrix Potter who wrote the Peter Rabbit booke wrote them about 10 miles away from here.
As for comments, here's a selection "that's the best looking Bentley I've seen for years", (no actually, It's a Chrysler), "I bet it has a really thirsty American engine" (hardly i's a V6 3.0 lt Mercedes diesel).
"I wonder what that is"
"bonny"
"Mafia staff car"
and from a BMW salesman "very, very nice. That engine just whispers"
and my favourite of the day
"I'll be buggered if yon feller'll get that up theere" when he saw me about to back up my drive.

More comments as I get them.

OK Moddog. pm no worries. I hadn't had any from you blokes before I came here either ! My tyres are Pirelli P7's, 18 inch 225/60's - which do not look like they will be cheap to replace !

Hi Geordie - I was beating them off with a stick most of the day to stop them putting their greasy paws on Arnie. The scary thing on the bucket & sponge front is that Arnie has still done less than 100 miles and he COULD do with a shampoo & condition. In Cumbria the council really does throw pleny of salt onto the roads !
As for poncing - how dare you. When you get your beastie it will be different of course. I prefer to call driving Arnie as being an experience. Poncing about pfff.

Oh Geordie, have I mentioned that I am a Rovers fan ? & if Ceefax serves me correctly, you barcode bandits got a tin of whupp ass opened over you today. And to that nice Mr Souness as well - shame.

I'll send you a pm later on.

Catch everyone later

Hi westcoastSRT8

I'm glad that you like'd the piccies. As long as people are enjoying them, I'll keep posting them.

OK, here I have a slight problem in explaining something. There is a difference in talking distances to Canadians compared talking to Brits. The Vicar of Dibley that you refer to (and that my wife loves) is fillmed about 250 miles away from the Lake District in Buckinghamshire. To a Brit, this is a LLOOOONNNGGGG wat away, to a Canadian I understand that this can be the round-trip distance for a burger bar .
The closest TV series that you MAY have seen in Canada is All Creatures GreAt And Small. This was filmed about 30 miles away from where I took these pictures.

As for the brochures, I may be able to help you a bit. If you go to http://www.chrysler.co.uk/chrysler/index.aspx and select 300c and then brochure and then digital brochure (you need to register, but you can be inventive with the details), you can download a brochure in PDF format. It may give you an idea or two before you come over.

Murphy The Cat

p.s. I only got arnie on Friday but I am aware of some differences between UK & USA / Canadian cars already.

The SRT* is launched in March this year, but like all things DC related this may move either way.

very, very good, I'll give you that one
I thought that you'd picked up on the St Georges Cross flags that now adorn Arnies extremities. Pictures to follow.
