Hi WestcoastSRT8

nearly all of our petrol/diesel stations in the UK are selfserve.
We have a choice of regular unleaded 95 octane (used by nearly everyone), super unleaded 97-98 octane (used by marketing victims), regular diesel (used by everyone) and "ultimate" diesel (used by marketing victims.
At the exchange rate of £1 = $1.75
Regular petrol costs $1.63 lt or $6.17 per US gal
Super unleaded costs $1.71 lt or £6.48 per US gal
Diesel is $1.68 lt or $6.36 per US gal
Ultimate Diesel is $1.73 lt or $6.55 per US gal

you can usually shave a couple of pence a lt off by shopping around.
So to fill a HEMI up is going to cost you $115.00 & to fill a diesel will cost you $119.28.
Currently about 66% - 68% of the price of road fuel is tax.
LPG is running at 77 cent lt or $2.92 per US gal.

MTC

p.s please no more comments about the fuel taxes supporting the Royal Family !!! Depending on which figures you want to use either
a) the Queen gets £10.6 million annually to run her affairs or
b) the Royal Family gets £36.7 million annually to run her affairs.
To put things into some context,
The RAF Typhoon project has cost £19018 million pounds
The cost of the 3 new Astute class nuclear submarines is put at £1.7 billion, but most people think that the true cost is nearer £3.5 billion.
We spend multiple billions each year on "political asylum" seekers (a great dea of which are illegal immigrants), & illegal immigrants.
It is estimated that £7 million pounds a day is wasted in Social Security fraud
£2555 million per year.
I could go on, but I think that you can see what I'm getting at.

Murph, you have a very fertile imagination

Westcoast, yep 99.9999% of Servos are self serve. They might be a few "Service" Stations out in the Bush .
