I wonder if your talking about me with my Jeep

I try to make open track days but more importantly are the national race days! I'm in and will see you there!

Still no runflats... got Goodyear F1 Supercar 245/45/ZR20's. That's the non-runflat version of the Goodyear EMT tire.
They keep closing the track due to high temps. I know the last race day I went, I overheated the first practice. Then the 2nd practice, I boiled my brakes after 3 laps. Stayed later for the drag racing and the best I could do was 13.5. Considering the temps I guess thats not too bad. I had the shifting TSB applied and really hoped that would pick up my times. But both 1/4 and circuit times were slightly slower than the last time I raced.
I'll definately be there.... but it's hard to say if they will be open.

F1 is a joke tire with a nice name ..

yeh cooling the 6.1 is not very good from the factory 16 spark plugs and a small thin radiator is just crap engineering.

about the national race day are you talking about the catarham event??? i dont like that very much the best is the speed trip event it is over two days of racing and other activitys like off roading, drift contest, hummer opstical corse, and in the evning its BBQ and good live music..

check out the 2007 speed trip video here. YouTube - Speed Trip 2007

Guys,
You missed a great open track.... .well not that great...

I did manage to trash my fairly new tires..... The track was hot and I ended up overheating and for the first time on the track ..... lost my brakes. I recently had them redone because it wasn't done correctly when I first had them done (extremely noisy). Anyway, long story short..... I babied it until the temp came back down to normal and got back on it just in time to come into turn 1 at around 90mph (144 kph) and nothing... no brakes. I threw the jeep sideways and slid all the way out and into the sand trap. Pretty uncomfortably close to the darn concrete barrier. I had a passenger whom I apologized to in case my screams scared him But as we come back around to clear the shakes we notice his partner had also lost it and did catch a barrier in his really nice evo...... Looked totalled.... They ended up taking his passenger to the hospital and having everything checked.

I stayed for the test & tune but ran a very disappointing time... 13.7 was the best time I had.

This weekend they are going to have a drift / race day. I think it will be sprints and then a kind of open track drift session. I hope I can make it but might have to work thurs.... start Sept 20th.

It was turn 1 right after the major straight. Normally, I am doing about 210kph before I enter that particular turn. The Jeep had cooled enough for me to get on it on that long straight away. Very scary stuff...... I'm actually having similar issues but it looks like it's the coolant itself. It's very cloudy and suspect there is a TSB for flushing the coolant. I have been waiting for the next service interval and then demand it's flushed. You should come tomorrow! Have you been driving through these nasty dust storms..... My bet on your coolant issues might simply be a radiator choked with dust???
