Thanks, SoCalC. I appreciate the comment!

Hey Cruzr. You picked a good color, too! I went to your website. We have a couple of things in common. First, born in 1954. Second, I am former USAF.

In any event, if you are coming down this way, PM me. I'll do the same if I am headed up your way!

Michael

Hey, SE Portland Checking in!

Nice ride and great grill work! I've also trimmed my moldings and LOVE the look.

If you guys want to get together some afternoon on the weekend, and show/tell on the mods, let's do it.

PIR is also an option for a run down the track. Friday and Saturday nights, "run what you brung" nights....$22 gets you all the runs you can do in a night. It's low key and fun as hell. I'd love to run against another 300C.

My "how to" on removing the trim is here:

Hey, kings11. The Kid lives in Milwaukie...I'm way out West in Hillsboro but I'm up for a meet and greet anywhere, anytime!

CNote...I'm getting there. Next install will either be the Superchips Flashpaq which I ordered today, or the Corsa exhaust, which was to be shipped late last week or the new wheels, which should be in this week! And thanks for the compliment. I'll be taken pics of the exhaust install as we tear it down and build it back up in the Performance forum, as well as a pic of the car after the new wheel/tire combo is put on. I prolly won't post a pic of the Flashpaq.

Biscuit and Eagle, Thanks!

correy, I like the new CAI I got. It's made by Volant and is an enclosed system that totally isolates the intake filter from any hot engine air. It's the third system of it's kind I've installed and I couldn't be happier. It's a clean install and looks good, too.

I've used exposed filter CAI's as well and prefer the enclosed ones because you get a cooler charge of air with them. This particular one, with a bit of modification, fits right into the factory cold air intake scoop just below the driver's side headlight.

and...John at SoCalMotorsports.com (a preferred vendor here on the forums - go check out his link on the vendor portion of this forum) has a screamin' price on them. He beat out the competition and his price is on par, or lower, than most exposed filter CAI's. Plus, John provides regular updates to keep you informed on the status of your order and offers to answer any question you may have or help you resolve any issues. That's world class service in my book. This is not the only thing I've ordered from SoCal and I will continue to order from them as needed.

Customer service at Volant is top notch. When I unpacked this one, I found the top cover had been dinged in shipping. I e-mailed them and got an immediate response. They are sending me a new one at no charge whatsoever. Now that's good service.

So, for the same price as an exposed filter CAI, you can get a much better (in my humble opinion) CAI from a vendor who cares and a manufacturer who stands behind their product.

Give it some thought and then, if you decide on a closed CAI, call or email John. His info is on the vendor link.
