Talking Goodbye 300C, Hello SRT8 !!!

I had been looking for an SRT8 for some time with either no luck or obstinate dealers who had no intention of "dealing" at all...sticker or nothing!

Yesterday, when running for some parts using the wife's Mitsu Endeavor,(front license plate bracket for the C), I noticed an SRT8 on the local lot! Went over to check it out, a sales rep showed me around the car and seem puzzled when I declined the opportunity to test drive. He did say that the Sales Manager had to approve test drives in the car and would only do so for "serious buyers".

I went online, opened a dealer quote query on their website and got a call within 1/2 hour. Made an appointment for Noon today and by 2:30, the deal was done. Key bit of data here was that the car had been in various inventories since its build date of 11/05! Had to use that data with the dealer and told them they could continue to wait for their dealer cash back on this car from Daimler Chrysler and continue to pay the inventory costs or get real on the deal and sell it!

I knew the SRT8 was a different car from the 300C but, man, what a rock solid BEAST! I'm glad I did it. I even came out pretty well on the numbers but that took some work. I even resorted to telling them "No" and getting up to walk out. That kept them talking and, after a few more offers and counters, we had a deal.

Anyway, sorry for rambling...here's a pic:

Hope to get with some of you folks soon for a Meet & Greet!

Outstanding-I get up and walk out everytime-even when they agree to my terms! They wouldn't sell you the car if they weren't making money, so even when I get what I want, I still feel like I can squeeze em a little more. I would have loved an SRT - but getting a fully loaded brand new 06C for 25k, I couldn't pass it up - woulda been another 15k (roughly) for the SRT. I'll try to hold out for a Cuda, but I may join you on the darkside!

CONGRATS!

Holly Crapola! Nice!!!!!

Ok, so where did you buy it? I just dropped my 300C off at Town & Country this morning for an oil change and saw a red SRT8 out in front. SHARP!

I guess I won't see the billet work in your old C.

So when can I see the beast? I'd love to get a ride in it. I can be free on Friday night if you want to check out PIR for a quick run.

Thanks, Scott. I got it at ****'s (weird..you can't say dik here! lololol) Country Dodge out here in Hillsburrito. I saved a couple of the billet pieces from the C and will be putting them on. Those that I RTV's on the C would NOT come off so I'll replace those with new pieces from Billet Technology.

Let me check on what the Mrs. has planned for Friday and maybe we can hook up out at PIR! I'll PM you. I could use a baseline performance run or two down the 1/4 mile before I start modding for power.

I don't think I'm going to get too far into aesthetics on this one except for maybe a molding removal and replacement of the two front quarter 300 badges for some SRT8 badges instead.

My Volant CAI from the C will fit this car and that's what I'll be doing one evening this week, installing that.

I'll keep ya posted on Friday night!

Michael
