sure wish I could go, but from Illinois it is a super long haul.

I will add to the comments that track days can help you become a better driver.

I put both my son's through driving schools and track days. Now when they are near to being 30 years old, it makes me feel good when they come to me a couple times a year with tales of how they got out of a tough situation on the highway because they had some training and got to explore the limits of traction in a controlled environment.

Putting on one of these track days is a LOT of work, I do about 2 a year, and I worry every minute that something might happen, but these are really safer in many respects than going to the corner store for milk.

They also need not be really hard on the car. If you just dial it back a notch, you can have more fun than any amusement ride and not tear up your car.

As for cost, you might pay $20-$30 to get about 1/2 a minutes fun at a typical drag night. But these events typically give you around an HOUR of fun. No comparison.

Don't let this opportunity pass you by if you live in driving range, and have wondered what it really feels like to be Tony Stewart at Watkins Glen or Mario Andretti at Sears Point (Infineon...sorry) (or pick your favorite driver etc).

Got the welcome and info letter from Proformance Driving School today, cannot wait to run that car!

"The day will provide a high learning and fun factor."
The driving exercises will include:
Slalom course-high aim vision and advanced car control
Threshold braking- ABS experience-ABS avoidance maneuver
Emergency lane change-crash avoidance
High speed controlled road course lapping

(How fast do you want to go? How much do you want to spend!)
