if people can't post their opinions about things positive or negative then we just shoudln't have a forum...

having said that though, I do apologize for having posted my opinions on the price, i simply felt it was overpriced, and when i was questioned, i defended my position. I didn';t mean to rile up this sort of discussion, simply stating my opinion.

I will admit though, you have used all the right parts from all the right people and have created an absoulutely magnificent example of a 300C. Best of luck selling the car!

415- No personal offense taken. I don't go down that road. It has just seemed that lately there is a lot of posts being jumped on before they even have a chance to work into the screen. I just know of a lot of forums that get closed or monitired because of that type of behavior and I would really hate to see that happen here with such an eclectic gathering of great enthusiats.

Guys, I find this anti-business, anti-profit attitude disconcerting because of the numbers of well intentioned people whose posts show they just don't get it.

I thought it was a Canadian thing with our high taxes and "the government will take care of us" attitude. Apparently not. I wonder what's being taught in the schools these days.

Here's a quick economics primer 101, for any non-business types that might be interested:

Governments have no money, and are not designed for creating wealth.

Gov't only distributes tax money.

Tax money is the by-product of wealth generated in the private sector by corporate profits or investment profits.

Profit occurs when:
a business sells a product or service for, say, $1000.00
then deducts their cost of goods or labor, say, $ 600.00
then deducts their fixed operating costs, say $ 250.00

Leaving a Profit of : $150.00

Governments take taxes: $ 50.00

Business gets to keep (if all goes well): $ 100.00

In today's internet world the consumer is king. Business, in general, is very competitive. If the small and medium size businesses do not show reasonable healthy profits, people lose their jobs and governments lose their tax revenues.

Are there unethical businesses out there? Sure, and the easiest way to find them is on the net. Are there incompetent ones as well? I think we've all experienced that as well.

That said, the vast majority of businesses work hard to take care of their customers, employees and earn a profit.

I have seen a significant increase in "unethical" consumers, who show no shame in demanding free stuff, compensation, or returning goods that they have obviously used.

The bottom line: Until someone figures out a better system, our overall prosperity depends on the profitablity of the business enterprises.

Great Point Northern. One more thing to add. It is not just what you put in a product, it is how you build it, what follow up is included and the general service and atmosphere surrounding the transaction. We feel that these all wrapped together make our small entreprise successful in our market and there for allow us a profit margin. Any company that sells a product for a loss will not be a company for long.

Just to chime in here (I know I haven't posted anything in this thread) when I went to law school...many moons ago, we discussed the term "Market value" and it breaks down like this:

Internal Revenue Code definition of Market Value:

"A negotiated price between a willing buyer and a willing seller where neither the buyer, nor the seller is forced to buy or sell."

Market Value for a car is nothing more then the price that someone else is willing to pay for it. In this case, it may be 60K or 55K or even 40K if the owner is willing to entertain these offers.

If the price seems high, its because it is , for me and may be others, but it does not mean that there is no market for it outside of this forum community.

503 - Good luck with the sale, the car looks amazing! Thanks for the inspiration.

Let us know what you finally get for it. If it's anywhere close to $50K I'm putting a for sale sign on mine!
