please check out my ebay listing if you're in the market:

ebay listing for my 2005 300C fully loaded RWD, Cool Vanilla/dark grey int., 7800 miles

Inquiries welcome from serious buyers.
The ebay listing has an unspecified minimum price which must be met as well as a "buy it now" price which closes the deal immediately.
Thank you for your interest.

Dawg, any nibbles on your car?

I really really REALLY wish you lived a little closer cause you have just what I'm looking for! I've been looking for too long now and there just aren't too many to have down here in Tampa. I'm going to talk to a dealer tomorrow who has a nice loaded Satin Jade with 20k but he wants around $35k and that just seems like a whole bunch for a car with 20k miles although it's a pretty fair price these days. I've always loved the CV color though.

Am I sick in the head cause I'd actually think about buying your machine cause I'd rather buy from a forum member who I bet has babied that car since day one? It would be an adventure driving from Chicago to Tampa, no?

Well anyway, I'm going to keep hunting, I guess, but know that there's a crazy veterinarian in Tampa who just might be convinced to come adopt your C no joke

Good luck
Patrick

Hop on a cheap plane from O'Hare to Tampa and drive it back!

I know, hmmm.

It would be Tampa to O'hare but i know what you meant.

It's an easy flight, I've done it for a few meetings. It's just that drive back, sheesh.

Wonder how long it would take. It would be nice to ride home in '300C first class' though.

Wink

Patrick, thank you for your interest in the vehicle, your good wishes and the pricing data from Tampa. Going into this, I really didn't know what to price it at, but I'm getting the feeling that I guessed about right. I was surprised that a local dealer, after inspecting the car, offered, in writing, $28K--I am used to dealers really coming in ridiculously low, and maybe he did! I am a big fan of EBAY so I thought I post it there first, but I wonder how effective it is for auto sales. I have had great luck, on past cars, with local advertising. Only one day into this so we'll see how it goes. Smart Ebay buyers often wait until minutes, even seconds before an item expires to place their bids. So we'll see.

If you fly up here this week with $33k, you will see that she has been well cared for and you can drive her back home! And please remember the tax advantages

Thanks for you quick response Dawg.

Is it a sign that i spend all day with cats and 'dawgs'.

You're right about Ebay people, I'm one of them. I've aquired a motorcycle and a jetski on Ebay and there is a technique to it.

The fact that the dealer offered you $28k for your C has pretty much cancelled any thoughts I had about meeting with my local dealer (I knew $35k was steep, and that was for fewer options than yours!). It seems I'd be much smarter to buy from a private seller, there just aren't many to be found at the moment.

How would we handle the tags if I came up? I've never bought a car out of state. Wouldn't I still have to pay tax when I registered it down here?

I'd give her a good home and take her to the beach regularly

Patrick,

I don't know about that salt air and sun on her pale skin.
I think Illinois law may be different from some--I'm not certain there is sales tax on person-to-person used vehicle sales. I sold a minivan last summer to my brother who had to register it back in PA and pay tax. I remember going with him the IL Motor Vehicle Dept and some very tedious dealings there over forms. I'll have to ask him what exactly we were up to.

I little Hemi Sunscreen and she'd be ready to go!

Yeah, I may do some research on this side too and see if I can find out how that works. Maybe I should post something here and see if we get some good feedback.

They always seem make the tax and tag thing so painful.

I see your Buy It Now has bumped up a bit, can't blame you. I'm just amazed no one in your area hasn't jumped on it.

Depending on your time frame, I'm still quite interested. Sounds like you really want to sell it by the end of the week and that would be a tad tough for me to pull off from Tampa.

Keep me in mind though!

Good luck
